OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
The Sales Manager – MICE is responsible for acquiring, growing, and retaining selected MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) accounts to maximize the total revenue potential for Rosewood Abu Dhabi. This role involves qualifying and prospecting new business opportunities while nurturing and expanding relationships with existing clients. The Sales Manager will work closely with internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and contribute to the overall sales and marketing strategy of the hotel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactive Sales & Business Development:
· Identify, target, and develop new MICE business opportunities through strategic prospecting and client engagement.
· Conduct regular sales calls, meetings, and presentations with key decision-makers, including corporate planners, DMCs, PCOs, and event organizers.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to maximize repeat business and long-term partnerships.
· Represent Rosewood Abu Dhabi at tradeshows, industry roadshows, networking events, and client functions to generate leads and promote the hotel.
· Prepare and present tailored proposals and contracts, ensuring they align with client needs and the hotel’s revenue strategies.
· Conduct regular market research to understand industry trends, competitor positioning, and new opportunities for business growth.
Account Management & Retention:
· Develop detailed account management plans to optimize revenue potential from each MICE client.
· Understand client needs and group’s & event’s objectives to provide customized solutions that showcase Rosewood Abu Dhabi’s unique offerings.
· Coordinate closely with internal departments (Banqueting, F&B, Operations, Reservations) to ensure seamless planning and execution of groups & events.
· Monitor and evaluate group & event success, gathering client feedback to enhance service quality and strengthen future business relationships.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date account information, sales activities, and development plans within the CRM system (Delphi).
On-Site Engagement & Event Coordination:
· Host and entertain clients during site inspections, FAM trips, networking events, and property tours to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services.
· Organize and participate in on-property sales events and client engagement activities to enhance brand awareness and business opportunities.
· Work collaboratively with event planners to ensure all operational details are executed to the highest standard.
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities:
· Prepare detailed sales reports, market intelligence, and revenue projections for the Asst. Director of Sales
· Ensure that all contracts, proposals, and rate quotations are in compliance with hotel policies and revenue guidelines.
· Manage internal sales systems, maintaining accurate data and forecasting group & event business effectively.
· Stay updated on MICE industry trends, client preferences, and competitive benchmarking to enhance Rosewood Abu Dhabi’s positioning in the market.
Other Duties:
· Attend sales group meetings, one-on-one sessions with the Asst. Director of Sales, and internal business development discussions.
· Participate in special projects, sales campaigns, and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Asst. Director of Sales.
· Serve as an ambassador for Rosewood Abu Dhabi, representing the hotel in a professional and engaging manner at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years in MICE sales within luxury hospitality, event management, or a related field.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
· Skills:
• Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and drive revenue.
• In-depth knowledge of the MICE industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.
• Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Delphi) and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Language: Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
· Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout
the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
· Licenses & Certifications: Must have a clean driving license, must be available to travel within the GCC market.
