OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Information Technology (IT) at Rosewood Red Sea is responsible for overseeing all IT operations, ensuring the seamless integration and performance of technology systems to support the resort’s luxury guest experience and operational efficiency. This role involves leading the IT team, managing technology infrastructure, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance guest services, staff productivity, and data security. The Director will align IT strategies with Rosewood’s global standards and local regulations, collaborating with other departments to deliver a world-class hospitality experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures to support the resort’s operations and Rosewood’s luxury brand standards.
- Oversee the management, maintenance, and security of all IT systems, including property management systems (e.g., Opera), point-of-sale systems, guest Wi-Fi, and back-office applications.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware, to support 24/7 resort operations.
- Collaborate with department heads to integrate technology solutions that enhance guest experiences, such as mobile check-in, smart room controls, and personalized services.
- Manage cybersecurity protocols, including data protection, access controls, and compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and international standards (e.g., GDPR for guest data).
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and software, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with operational needs.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining high service standards.
- Implement and support sustainability initiatives, such as energy-efficient IT systems, in line with Rosewood’s environmental goals.
- Monitor and troubleshoot IT issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution to maintain guest and staff satisfaction.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of IT services and support.
- Prepare and present reports on IT performance, system upgrades, and technology initiatives to senior management.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within luxury hospitality or a similar high-service environment.
- Proven expertise in managing IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud systems, and hospitality-specific software (e.g., Opera, Micros).
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with local and international regulations.
- Experience leading and developing diverse IT teams in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
