ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Satisfaction

    Ensure all spa, wellness, and fitness services meet Rosewood, Forbes and LQA standards of excellence.

    Develop service protocols, treatment standards, and wellness rituals tailored to luxury clientele.

    Regularly analyze guest feedback, surveys, and reviews to improve service delivery.

    Implement guest-experience training programs for Spa & Wellness Associates and Rosewood Explorers Associates.

    Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

    Maintain a strong presence in the Sense Spa to observe service, recognize associate, and engage with guests.

    Overseeing development and implementation of activities and learning concepts for junior guests participating in the Rosewood Explorers program

    Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

    Ensure the execution of Spa, Rosewood Explorers, Fitness and Wellness guest journeys that reflect Rosewood’s standards of service excellence.

Operations

    Ensures that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented, and that optional brand standards have been implemented where appropriate (Forbes and LQA)

    Works closely with other Executive Committee members in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests. 

    Monitors all operations, especially during peak business periods, working through the respective Department Head to make adjustments where necessary. 

    Oversee daily spa, wellness, and fitness operations including treatment rooms, relaxation areas, fitness center, wellness spaces and Rosewood Explorers. 

    Ensure all facilities are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness, safety, and luxury presentation. 

    Develop operating procedures, SOPs, emergency procedures, and treatment guidelines. 

    Manage the spa’s menu of services, including seasonal updates, signature rituals, holistic therapies, and wellness programming. 

    Collaborate with therapists and wellness associates to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with the brand’s wellness philosophy. 

    Coordinate scheduling to ensure optimal manning levels and therapist utilization. 

    Monitor spa, Rosewood Explorers and fitness centre equipment maintenance and liaise with engineering for repairs and upgrades

Marketing

    Evaluates local, national and international market trends, vendors and spa/wellness operations constantly to make sure that the hotel’s operations remain competitive and cutting edge. 

    Encourages Department Heads to look for Marketing and Public Relations opportunities to increase awareness and ultimately business. 

    Partner with Marketing and PR teams to promote spa services, packages, and seasonal campaigns. 

    Maintain brand positioning through storytelling, wellness content, and signature guest journeys. 

    Develop partnerships with wellness practitioners, fitness experts, and luxury product lines. 

    Create innovative wellness retreats, workshops, and fitness experiences. 

    Oversee social media and digital marketing initiatives related to spa and wellness. 

    Build community outreach and local membership programs (fitness, wellness events, spa experiences). 

Finance/Administration

    Prepare and manage the spa/wellness budget, including revenue forecasts, payroll, and operating expenses. 

    Analyze financial performance Spa, Retail Shops, Fitness; including revenue per treatment, therapist productivity, retail conversion, and average spend. 

    Develop pricing strategies and revenue-generating initiatives aligned with luxury market expectations. 

    Maintain inventory management systems for retail, professional products, and supplies. 

    Ensure compliance with licensing, safety standards, and local regulations. 

    Lead purchasing decisions and vendor relationships for equipment, linens, and retail brands. 

    Provide monthly financial and operational reports to executive leadership.

    Reviews uniform replacement schedule.

    Conducts regular divisional communications meetings and ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary. 


FOCUS AREAS

Wellness

    Build a comprehensive wellness philosophy encompassing holistic treatments, mindfulness practices, nutrition partnerships, and healing experiences that aligns with Rosewood Brand standards

    Introduce and manage wellness retreats, visiting practitioner programs, and alternative healing modalities. 

    Curate bespoke wellness journeys tailored to stress reduction, detox, sleep health, fitness, or longevity. 

    Oversee training for wellness specialists and ensure modalities align with global wellness trends.

Fitness

    Oversee fitness center operations, personal training programs, and group fitness classes. 

    Develop signature fitness experiences aligned with Rosewood Brand standard 

    Maintain equipment standards, technology integration, and safety protocols. 

    Partner with fitness professionals to create wellness-driven programming for resort guests and local members.

Retail

    Lead retail strategy including product selection, merchandising, and visual presentation. 

    Curate luxury skincare, wellness, aromatherapy, and lifestyle retail lines. 

    Implement training on product knowledge and retail selling techniques. 

    Maintain inventory accuracy, stock control, and supplier relationships. 

    Set retail sales targets and incentives for team members.

Rosewood Explorers Program

    Ensure programming aligns with brand standards, prioritizing creativity, cultural relevance, fun, and educational value. 

    Contribute to scheduling, activity planning, and resource needs for daily and seasonal Explorers activities. 

    Review program offerings to maintain consistency, innovation, and safety across all children’s activities.

    Support the delivery of exceptional family-focused experiences through the Explorers Program. 

    Assist in creating smooth coordination between Spa, Rosewood Explorers, and other resort departments for family activities and events. 

    Ensure family guests receive accurate, friendly communication regarding kids’ program schedules, offerings, and policies. 

    Help identify enhancements to elevate the overall children’s experience and parent satisfaction.

Leadership and Team Development

    Recruit, train, and mentor a team of therapists, spa attendants, wellness practitioners, fitness trainers, wellness personnel and Rosewood Explorers 

    Conduct performance evaluations as required and create succession plans. 

    Foster a culture of wellness, teamwork, and impeccable service delivery. 

    Lead regular communication meetings to share goals, successes, and updates.


QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum 5–7 years of luxury spa leadership experience in a 5-star hotel or resort environment. 

    Experience at Rosewood Sense Of Spa/ Asaya is required

    Education: 

                   -    Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration

                   -    Associate’s Degree Travel & Tourism

                   -    ABE Level 3 Certificate in Business Management

    Certifications: 

                   -    Spa Finance Course by Raison D’Etre Spas 

                   -    CIBTAC Diploma in Salon Management 

                   -    CPD Certificate Deep Muscle Fusion 

    Strong background in wellness, holistic therapies, spa operations, fitness management and retail. 

    Proven success with financial management, budgeting, and revenue performance. 

    Experience with luxury spa software systems and guest-experience tracking tools. 

    Strong leadership presence, emotional intelligence, and ability to inspire a high-performing team.

    General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions  thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Motivated/outgoing personality  

    Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Opera, Spa Soft and Birchstreet preferred. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills 

    Ability to work within a team/individually  

    Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
