A Day in the Life: As a Banqueting Manager at Rosewood Amsterdam, you will oversee and manage the Events Operations department, ensuring all private events meet and exceed guest expectations in terms of quality, quantity, and service. Your day will involve coordinating with various teams, supervising staff, and maintaining the highest standards of event execution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Events Operations department to meet guest expectations and budget requirements.
- Plan events, preparing necessary equipment and materials.
- Designate a supervisor for each event and prepare work schedules.
- Forecast labor costs and manage payroll for casual staff.
- Supervise staff during event setup, execution, and teardown.
- Liaise with third parties and suppliers, maintaining event items.
- Ensure event spaces are set up according to standards.
- Monitor and maintain staff grooming standards.
- Conduct daily operations meetings and attend weekly Banqueting Events Order (BEO) meetings.
- Introduce yourself to event organizers and address their needs.
- Handle guest accidents and last-minute changes efficiently.
- Ensure accurate invoicing for event items and address guest complaints promptly.
- Assist in recruiting and developing team members.
- Ensure compliance with hotel rules, safety, and security regulations.
- Be prepared to work in other F&B outlets as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- MBO level 4/HBO work and thinking level.
- Knowledge of company rules, guidelines, relevant laws, and regulations.
- Financial and management data reporting skills.
- Customer-centric attitude with integrity and a positive approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster teamwork.
- Leadership skills, including empowerment, feedback, and delegation.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Initiative and a business mindset.
- Excellent time and task management skills.
