Target, solicit and develop business within the events market, with efforts directed toward securing room night production and revenue generation from social and wedding events (SMERF), as well as securing group/catering affiliated meeting room rental and food & beverage revenues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (Key Activities)
· Proactively manage, qualify, and solicit all existing and new accounts in assigned territory to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
· Maintain and further develop social/event database. Ensure that accounts are rated according to Rosewood Hotels & Resorts coding system.
· Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, group/catering food & beverage within approved booking guidelines.
· Accurately produce all sales proposals, social/wedding group contracts, and catering agreements. Responsible for closing the sale, collecting deposits, and ensuring pre-payment of anticipated revenue.
· Prepare correspondence to clients, while maintaining internal booking reports and file maintenance.
· Develop & maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
· Responsible for conducting & customizing site inspections for prospective clients, and coordinating, orchestrating and hosting property and area familiarization trips and activities.
· Create offers and sales actions to prospect for need period dates. Develop promotions and sales campaigns for implementation in the local market.
· Contribute to the annual marketing plans and budget process. Review goals and action plan on a regular basis.
· Maintain expenses within the budgeted guidelines.
· Maintain a respectful working relationship with on-property colleagues and facilitate flow of communication.
· Conduct sales calls on key accounts.
· Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events to maximize exposure/opportunity for Rosewood Bermuda (i.e. Airlines, Tourism Authority, Professional Organizations and Destination Management Companies).
· Prepare and submit timely monthly reports to Associate Director of Group Sales. Recognize and include communication of market trends and competitive intelligence.
· Participate in scheduled sales & marketing meetings, pre-event meetings, sales trainings and other sales strategy related meetings as required.
Qualifications -
· Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of international degree in Hotel Management or Marketing and progressive work-related experience.
· Required to speak, read and write in English
Experience -
· Minimum of 3 years hotel sales experience – luxury brand preferred
Note: Successful candidate must be based in and residing in either New York or Bermuda.
