THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE
The Director of Sales is responsible for managing all aspects of our Sales and Marketing team while achieving optimal sales targets and objectives for the hotel. Implement a successful solicitation strategy to targeted guests in order to achieve and/or exceed Total Sales Team Revenue Goals and Budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Solicit new and develop existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
· Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
· Participate in scheduled sales meetings, pre-event meetings, training and other sales strategy related meetings as required.
· Develop & maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
· Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
· Provide feedback and support to all departments.
· Create and implement sales action plans to successfully achieve and exceed goals
· Participate as team player with other key Departments.
· Provide constructive feedback to all departments and to hotel sales and marketing staff.
· Contribute to the annual marketing plans and budget process. Review goals and action plan on a scheduled basis. Maintain expenses within the budgeted guidelines.
· Maintain a respectful working relationship with on-property colleagues and facilitate flow of communication.
· Develop new marketing tools/collateral for the group market segment. Coordinate and monitor scheduled direct mail efforts.
· Conduct sales calls on key accounts. Organize sales blitzes in assigned territory with Global Sales Office and sister properties. Solicit, organize, and participate in familiarization trips from key client base.
· Represent hotels at appropriate travel industry trade shows and conferences.
· Maintain knowledge of all Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to facilitate cross selling.
· Build relationship with sales counterparts from Global Sales Office and sister hotels to relay leads and requests. Communicate need period dates and respond promptly to all leads.
· Recognize and include communication of market trends and competitive intelligence.
· Attend sales meetings and leadership training sessions as required.
· Actively participates in the Business Plan preparation with emphasis on driving the revenue objectives for Las Ventanas al Paraíso.
· Develop an effective marketing plan, with clear objectives and sales goals per each business segment, towards the achievement of budget revenue targets.
· Ensures all brand standards and values are maintained at all times within Las Ventanas al Paraíso and that deviations (if any) from the Visual Identity Manual are recorded and agreed upon by the Corporate Office.
· Recommends and oversees the approved advertising and communications plan for Las Ventanas al Paraíso.
· Directs and approves the overall travel plans of the S&M team to maximize coverage and revenue potential for Las Ventanas al Paraíso .
· Takes a lead position in Las Ventanas al Paraíso weekly / monthly forecasting meetings, working closely with the revenue management team and devices strategies to achieve goals/targets.
· Is conversant with revenue management and channel / distribution management, using these tools to effectively support decision making.
· Establishes and reviews marketing and sales budgets and allocated expenditures to ensure most effective use of funds available to support business objectives.
· Regularly conducts and reviews the business performance and productivity with the team.
· Optimizes the opportunities in driving business via all available channels / distribution avenues.
· Maximizes and leverages the support from the Corporate Sales and Marketing team in pursuing business from key segments and manages accounts, including corporate RFPs and prospects for new business.
· Actively participates in all relevant activities and programs within the New World Group and its subsidiaries such as New World Group and CTF VIP programs.
· Drives sales and marketing initiatives and activities to optimize synergy amongst sister hotels on cross-selling. Such activities include joint sales calls, co-partnership, trade shows, exhibitions, client events, cluster or group-wide promotions etc.
· Provides feedback through marketing intelligence, to better guide business decisions, both long and short terms.
· Works closely with the Information Technology division to ensure system maximization as relates to Sales and Marketing and is aware of new trends in this area.
· Works closely with Director of Food and Beverage to ensure marketing support to Food and Beverage promotional events and for the coordination of advertising needs.
· Develops and maintains close working relationships with all Division Heads and is an active part of the senior management team.
· Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the Division / Department, for implementation in the field while ensuring compliance with the same for consistency across the group.
· Actively participates in and leads recruitment and talent development for the Division / Department, to meet both current and future needs.
· Is a “Brand Ambassador” at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
· Models the Corporate culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills -
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to travel on Business Trips as needed.
- Must possess computational ability.
- Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel
- Extensive knowledge of sales skills.
- Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
- Desire to participate as part of a team.

Qualifications -
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of international degree in Hotel Management or Marketing and progressive work-related experience.
- Experience - Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience successfully directing a sales team and a proven track record of achieving overall budget – luxury brand preferred
- Language - Required to speak, read and write English
