About Rosewood Kauri Cliffs

Set on 6,000 acres of Pacific coastland the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is located in the Bay of Islands, at the top of the North Island of New Zealand. Our Spa is situated amongst Totara trees, and treatment rooms look out onto a fern-fringed stream. The Spa includes four treatments rooms, complete with a couples treatment room and Vichy shower room. In the same facility is a fully equipped fitness centre, indoor lap pool, sauna and spa pool.

What you will do

We are seeking an experienced Hotel/Lodge Spa Manager or, Assistant Spa Manager wanting to step-up, to manage our Spa operation. You will be responsible for recruiting and training staff, inventory control and day-to-day management of the Spa and Fitness Centre, as well as providing treatments to our guests.

You will be a hands-on leader and will use your experience and business acumen to ensure our in-house Spa team is fully trained, that our Spa is profitable, and continues to exceed guest expectations.

We expect you to possess proficient communication skills, be computer literate, including intermediate MS Excel and Word skills.

This is a hands-on role and will require you to work independently, with the ability to carry out all beauty and massage treatments, in addition to manage independent contractors and employees during our high season. You will be required to work weekends, evening's and public holidays.

Enthusiasm and a flexible approach will be beneficial during our busy season as the position requires you to be self-motivated, a team player and able to adopt an agile working style in high pressure seasons.

  • Carry out all spa treatments in line with Rosewood Hotel Group standards
  • Maintain a contemporary knowledge of spa services, products and understanding all applications and benefits
  • Keep our Spa looking luxurious and feeling tranquil
You will bring
  • Experience in a hospitality environment (ideally at luxury level)
  • Massage and Beauty qualifications (diploma level)
  • Impeccable personal grooming
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Experienced people manager
  • Business acumen - working to and achieving sales targets
  • Able to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
