Job Description

IMPACT OF THIS ROLE:

The Vice President of Digital, is responsible for leading Digital Strategy. We are looking for a transformational leader to set overall strategic direction for digital with a vision and passion for creating world class digital experiences for our customers. This person will redefine the digital end to end customer journey creating a strong and consistent experience from initial exploration to booking and experiences and transactions beyond the guest’s stay. The digital lead will leverage data and analytics, develop and measure against KPI’s to maximize engagement, conversion, and retention across all our digital channels. They will drive consistency across markets and channels and focus on loyalty and integration of our membership strategy into all digital touchpoints, building stronger relationships between Rosewood Hotel Group’s brands and the end consumer. This highly strategic digital product leader will bring innovative thinking and build best-in-class front end digital capabilities. They will also oversee Global Paid Media and be accountable for developing a full funnel media strategy with associated attribution models to measure effectiveness of our online and offline campaigns to drive both room bookings and sales on ancillary products and services. This role will provide leadership to the Digital Organization and build enablement on digital best practices across our on-property teams. This leadership role will collaborate with customer experience, IT (Information Technology), Brand, Marketing and Operations for eCommerce logistics and fulfillment.

 

OBJECTIVES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital Strategy leadership: Develop and own the product vision and roadmap for all digital platforms to execute brand-specific strategies aligned to business need for each Rosewood brand. (Rosewood Hotels, Rosewood Residences, New World, Asaya, and Carlyle & Co).

 

Website and App enhancement: Customize strategies to resonate with guest profiles and continuously monitor industry trends and emerging technologies and adapt strategies to ensure that brand specific digital guest experiences align with brand identity and guest expectations. Co-create with our agency partners best-in-class digital design and UX/UI principles ensuring a common global brand look, feel, and best in class evolved customer centric experience. Candidate must have experience in driving a large-scale digital transformation and re-platform of Brand.com.

Collaborate closely with brand team to ensure consistency in digital touchpoints. Collaborate closely with IT to maintain a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure. Build and execute the strategy for creating common, reusable global tools and secure agency partners for solution implementation that drives efficiency with hotels while allowing customization to meet relevant local market needs.

Approach these tasks with an analytical mindset, setting and optimizing KPI’s that drive revenue, address drop-off, engage customers with positive brand affinity and increased customer lifetime value.

 

Ecommerce Optimization: Ownership and optimization for Brand.com to ensure we are driving our fair share on Brand.com, optimizing the revenue by channel and maximizing book direct strategy through strategic pricing, distribution, and online booking enhancements. Adapt e-commerce strategies to align with each brand’s unique pricing and revenue models. Optimize user flow and conversion rates for each brand’s online booking process. ECommerce will include integration of our membership platform to drive loyalty and customer lifetime value.

Digital Marketing: develop and execute brand specific digital marketing campaigns, encompassing SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), email marketing and social media. Increase brand visibility and drive direct booking by tailoring campaigns to target audiences. Continuously analyze and refine digital marketing strategies to maximize ROI (return on investment).

 

Customer Acquisition Strategy: develop and implement comprehensive customer acquisition strategies to attract high-value guests. Collaborate with marketing teams to identify and target key customer segments. In conjunction with the Head of Global Media lead the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness and bookings. Develop compelling and personalized messaging to engage guests in media and through Brand.com. Utilize data-drive insights to optimize marketing initiatives for maximum ROI.

 

Data Analytics and Insights: leverage data-driven insights to monitor and refine digital initiatives for each brand, develop brand specific KPI’s and performance metrics to measure success of digital strategies. Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations while harnessing data for informed decision making.

Budget Management: develop and manage brand-specific digital budgets allocating resources judiciously. Measure returns on investment on digital investments and make budget adjustments based on performance and brand-specific needs.

Team Management and development: Be a strong leader of people and problem solver, guiding a team through change and transformation, with an eye on talent development, capability building and culture.

 

CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

To fulfill this role successfully, the candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience developing and implementing digital strategies across a broad range of digital marketing technologies and experience communicating with senior level executives. Proven record of accomplishment of designing, implementing, and optimizing omni-channel e-commerce experiences. At least 5 years in a leadership role within the luxury retail or hospitality industry with exposure to luxury brands. We are looking for a visionary, innovative, collaborative, analytical leader who will build a strong team and drive enablement for digital across the organization.

 

Education: bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

 

Industry knowledge: in-depth understanding of the luxury retail industry, market trends and guest expectations. Proven record of accomplishment of successful digital leadership with a global scope in a large enterprise. Knowledge of retail and e-commerce including omni channel and expertise in driving experiential and loyalty-oriented enterprises. Demonstrated success in managing cross-border strategies and integrating regional nuances.

 

Digital & innovation expertise: we are looking for someone with proven success implementing major digital initiatives within a complex global enterprise, who has proficiency in digital marketing strategies, e-commerce, and emerging technologies. Our ideal candidate has a visionary mindset with a proven record of accomplishment of introducing emerging technology to enhance guest experience. You need to be a strategic thinker with a data driven decision making approach. Able to lead a cross-functional Agile team consisting of UX/UI, Product Designers, and Developers. Working knowledge of JIRA, Figma, Adobe XD,and other product development & Prototyping tools. Proficient in the latest cloud/SaaS products and solutions to accelerate product delivery. Knowledge of content management (CMS (Content Management System)) and digital asset management (DAM) systems

and using a broad content ecosystem. Experience in driving personalization and customization, ideally in Retail & eCommerce.

 

Leadership and collaboration: Strong team-oriented leadership abilities with a history of fostering innovation in cross functional teams (high EQ). Proven history in retaining and developing team members and sharing best practices to facilitate enablement among cross functional and global teams. Ability to translate complex technical topics into easy-to-understand commercial business cases. We are looking for a dynamic personality with great energy who will immediately add a different and innovative perspective to the team. Ability to inspire and lead a large global cross functional team.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel internationally to meet agencies and work with cross functional teams.

• Travel to properties as requested for discovery trips.

• Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.
