Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Reporting to the Resort Chief Accountant, the successful candidate will oversee the integrity of resort member accounts, ensuring precise membership billing, accurate payment processing, comprehensive management of receivable ageing and timely completion of month-end reporting. This role requires a highly organized self-starter capable of operating with minimal supervision while adhering to established financial standard operating procedures (SOPs).

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Account Management: Perform daily audits of postings to resort member receivable accounts to ensure accuracy and verify daily fluctuations in balances.
  • Revenue Processing: Facilitate the timely and accurate posting of payments to appropriate accounts and manage monthly statement preparation and billing cycles.
  • Financial Reporting: Execute monthly accounts receivable balancing, finalize period-end balances, and review AR reports for accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Issue Resolution: Work proactively with Members and resort staff to research and resolve billing discrepancies and execute necessary corrections.
  • Intercompany Reconciliations: Perform daily confirmation of intercompany balance reconciliations as required by the finance leadership team.
  • Member Relations: Provide exceptional professional service to club members, addressing inquiries and resolving account issues with urgency and discretion.

 

Cross-Functional & Rotational Duties

To ensure cross-functional support and understanding of the resort’s financial systems, this position includes rotational responsibilities to support the following functions:

 

  • Accounts Payable Support: Assist with invoice verification, vendor statement reconciliations, and general secondary support to the Accounts Payable department as needed.
  • Income Audit Oversight: Assist in the preparation of the daily income audit pack and assist the Income Auditor as needed.

 

He/She will also carry out duties in accordance with standard operating procedures as issued by the Chief Accountant, Assistant Director of Finance, or the Director of Finance.

 

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

 

  • Ability to uphold and enforce hotel’s standards, policies and procedures and finance department standards, policies, and procedures
  • Acts on issues and concerns promptly 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to efficiently use Jonas, Opera, SunSystem and other relevant financial systems supporting resort operations.  
  • Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively with finance and other departments as part of a team

  

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

 

Education:

High School GED

 

Experience:

5-7 years applicable experience / 2 years accounting degree preferred.

 

Grooming:  

All employees must maintain a neat, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
