Job Description

OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide all massage, hydrotherapy and body therapy services offered by the Spa at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Always cultivating and maintaining a professional attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
To be performed under the suitable job title and role classification as required by all governing licenses and registrations.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Rosewood departmental policies/service procedures/standards, Forbes and LQA Standards.
• Keep up to date with current techniques and modalities related to their field of work.
• Attend all scheduled meetings, classes, and training sessions; knowledge required within the Spa must be passed on to co-workers.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests. Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Always maintain positive guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Maintain knowledge of hours of operation, reservations, fees, treatments, products, and merchandise as well as pertinent hotel information.
• Be familiar with all hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices, and rates.
• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies, forms and resource materials, report shortages to Assistant Spa Manager.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and uniform, following Rosewood Standards.
• Perform opening procedures following cleanliness and sanitization protocols.
• Responsible for stocking supplies needed for cabinets (sheets, towels, blankets, refill oils, creams, and all products used by therapists while performing their treatments).
• Maintain inventory of products and supplies.
• Conduct appointments according to guest’s comfort and desire. Follow massage and body treatment protocols.
• Prepare guest consultation. Be thoroughly familiar and able to recommend Spa products and treatments as well as know pertinent hotel information.
• Verify medical releases from guests with applicable medical conditions.
• Follow proper draping procedures.
• Sanitize implements, tools and working areas after each treatment.
• Sell/promote merchandise.
• Complete required post- treatment documents.
• Follow dirty linen procedures and room set up.
• Dispose of trash and dirty linens, and secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift. Monitor and stick to time schedule throughout the day.
• Handle emergency procedures and report any accidents to your manager and security.
• Perform room closing procedures.
• Fill out necessary reports as required.
• Follow established standard spa treatment SOP’s.
• Perform all other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as Registered Massage Therapist in Luxury Properties.

• Education: High school diploma. Diploma or degree in a related field. Graduates from an accredited school of massage and be registered with the College of Registered Massage Therapists of British Columbia. CPR certification obtained.

• General/Technical Skills: Ability to:
▪ Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
▪ Provide massage services to guests using props and/or products.
▪ Provide body treatments to guests using body scrubs, wraps, and/or hydrotherapy.
▪ Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e.g., allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy) before beginning service.
▪ Prioritize, organize, and follow up.
▪ Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
▪ Follow directions thoroughly.
▪ Understand guest’s service needs.
▪ Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
▪ Work with minimal supervision.
▪ Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
▪ Knowledge of Book 4Time is an asset.

• Language: Required to speak, read, and write English. Additional language is an asset.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 10-15 pounds, endure various
physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work
periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
