Rosewood Rome is currently casting for a Director of Events, responsible for leading the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all events hosted by the hotel, under the supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing. This role ensures the seamless delivery of high-quality guest experiences, from corporate conferences and weddings to social galas and brand activations. The Director will eventually manage a team of event professionals, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and maintain strong client relationships to uphold Rosewood standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Leadership:
- Develop and implement the annual events strategy aligned with Rosewood Rome business goals and hotel positioning;
- Lead, mentor, and manage the events team to ensure high performance and professional growth;
- Forecast and manage the events budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI.
- Event Management:
- Oversee the planning and execution of all events, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail;
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., F&B, IT, Housekeeping, Front Office) and external vendors;
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients and partners;
- Conduct site inspections, client briefings, and post-event evaluations;
- Build and maintain long-term relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Sales & Marketing Support:
- Follow the guidelines and directions provided by the Director of Sales & Marketing, related to Rosewood Rome hotel positioning and sales strategy;
- Collaborate with the entire sales team to develop event proposals and presentations;
- Contribute to marketing campaigns and promotional strategies for events;
- Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to enhance the event portfolio.
- Collaboration & Culture Building:
- Partner closely with department heads to embed Rosewood’s culture, vision, and brand standards;
- Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring that the events environment reflects Rosewood positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field;
- Minimum 7/10 years of experience in event mgmt, with at least 3 years in a leadership role;
- Proven track record of managing large-scale events (100+ attendees);
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills;
- Proficiency in event management software and CRM tools;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in luxury hospitality or high-end corporate events;
- Multilingual capabilities.
