Position Overview
Rosewood Red Sea, part of the ultra-luxury Red Sea Global destination, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Housekeeping to join our pre-opening leadership team. This role will oversee all aspects of Housekeeping and Laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and luxury in alignment with Rosewood’s philosophy of A Sense of Place®.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the guest journey, establishing pre-opening procedures, and building a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences across guest rooms, suites, residences, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee all housekeeping and laundry operations, including guest rooms, suites, residences, villas, public areas, heart-of-house, and staff accommodations.
- Ensure consistent adherence to Rosewood’s luxury standards, brand guidelines, and Red Sea Global sustainability goals.
- Establish and implement comprehensive SOPs for cleaning, maintenance, and hygiene, ensuring alignment with international best practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers for linen, amenities, and cleaning products, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
- Champion the role of Housekeeping in the guest journey, ensuring every detail contributes to a seamless and memorable stay.
- Anticipate guest preferences and customize housekeeping services to enhance personalization.
- Resolve guest concerns swiftly and effectively, reinforcing Rosewood’s reputation for intuitive and rare hospitality.
- Lead the pre-opening readiness of all housekeeping operations including recruitment, training, linen & OS&E procurement, system implementation, and policy development.
- Oversee snagging, inspections, and handover of guest rooms, residences, and public spaces in coordination with the project and engineering teams.
- Drive readiness for opening day with rigorous room inspections, service rehearsals, and associate orientation.
- Recruit, mentor, and inspire a multicultural housekeeping team, fostering a culture of accountability, pride, and excellence.
- Implement structured training programs and career development pathways, ensuring succession planning and team growth.
- Lead by example, creating an empowered, motivated, and service-driven department.
- Develop and manage the Housekeeping budget, including labor planning, linen inventory, and consumables.
- Implement cost-control measures while maintaining uncompromised service quality.
- Drive sustainability initiatives including eco-friendly cleaning practices, waste reduction, and linen reuse programs aligned with Red Sea Global’s regenerative vision.
- Work closely with Rooms Division, Engineering, and Front Office to ensure smooth communication and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Red Sea Global, Rosewood corporate teams, and ownership representatives to ensure alignment with brand and project goals.
- Uphold and champion Rosewood’s brand ethos across all guest and associate touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent professional training.
- Minimum 10–12 years of progressive Housekeeping experience in luxury hotels or resorts, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong pre-opening experience within ultra-luxury or lifestyle brands highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale housekeeping operations, including villas or residences.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, cost controls, and procurement.
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to inspire a multicultural team.
