- Luxury and/or Five Diamond Resort experience
- Multi-event venue and Destination Hotel/resort experience
- Extensive Wedding & Social Catering experience within similar market/demographic
- Delphi experience
- Sound knowledge of room set ups, including audio-visual equipment and food & beverage cost control measures.
- Demonstrates superior problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance clients’ needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the hotel.
- Plan, execute and oversee the aspects of all assigned Social events including small business meetings, room blocks, related event functions and billing.
- Prepare and distribute timely correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, BEO’s and all related documentation and maintain all related files.
- Work closely with Director of Social Events to ensure proper yield space management and ensure accurate Catering Forecasting.
- Participate in daily business review meeting, training programs and other catering related meetings as required.
- Work closely and collaborate with other departments with the resort to provide quality serve to customers.
- Collaborate with Culinary & Banquet Teams to create innovative menus and events proposals to continually improve revenue and profit margins while maintaining quality.
- Demonstrate an innovative and creative approach in accommodating clients’ special needs and requirements.
- Properly handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Entertain and maintain relationships with event planners
- Work with Director of Social Events to maximize function space and ensure the capture and consistent up selling of food & beverage minimums and site fees.
- Maintain consistent verbal and written communications with clients
- Actively participate in industry related organizations and local community to develop relationships
- Conduct effective onsite and field presentation to prospective customers.
- Maintain efficient and detailed input into Delphi system
- Active supervision of event set-up to include planning with kitchen and outside agencies and vendors.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hotel experience in a similar sized hotel/resort operation or equivalent.
- Minimum 3+ years of Wedding and Social catering experience.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays based on business needs.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Outlook.
- Proven track record of developing long term client and coworker relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal & computer.
- Ability to create and deliver professional quality presentations in front of groups.
- Superior time management, organizational and detail management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales principles, techniques and industry practices common to the hospitality industry.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Comply with Resort Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $85,000. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. This position also may be eligible for bonuses. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, location, and education.
