Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
• Oversee the daily cleaning and presentation of all resort public areas, ensuring a flawless, welcoming environment that reflects the resort’s luxury brand standards.
• Conduct thorough, proactive inspections of public spaces, the fitness center, restaurants, service corridors, and storerooms to verify adherence to strict cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic standards.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise deep-cleaning initiatives as well as special projects, maintaining meticulous standards and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate essential services, including pest control, floral and plant care, and periodic deep-clean tasks, ensuring consistency throughout all areas of responsibility.
• Maintain expert knowledge of all cleaning equipment, tools, and products, ensuring proper usage, care, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Monitor and maintain systematic cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in all work zones and guest-facing areas.
• Act promptly to address service needs, respond to emergencies, and assist in maintaining world-class presentation standards throughout the resort.
Guest Experience
• Anticipate and respond to guest needs with warmth, professionalism, and urgency, always aligned with luxury service norms regardless of operational demand.
• Represent the resort with grace and composure, acknowledging all guests with genuine courtesy, setting the tone for an elevated guest experience.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for guest inquiries, ensuring satisfaction while upholding service standards.
Team Leadership & Development
• Assign, oversee, and adjust workloads for Public Area Attendants and support associates based on daily priorities, occupancy, and luxury service expectations.
• Lead by example in standards of grooming, personal presentation, and professional comportment.
• Ensure timely attendance, adherence to schedule, and reliable shift coverage; document any challenges appropriately.
• Issue supplies at the start of each shift, managing inventory to support operational efficiency while controlling costs.
• Train, coach, and mentor associates to consistently deliver exceptional results aligned with Rosewood, LQA, and Forbes standards.
• Provide clear and constructive performance feedback; promptly report performance or disciplinary issues to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Deliver engaging pre-shift briefings that reinforce quality standards, daily priorities, and guest service goals.
• Assist with other supervisory duties and tasks.
• Review emails to ensure information is received and actioned as it relates to housekeeping, outlets and the public spaces.
Communication & Coordination
• Maintain clear communication with Engineering, Housekeeping, and leadership teams to address maintenance issues, lost and found items, and operational needs.
• Complete and submit work orders for equipment servicing or repair, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
• Document all relevant activity in standard reporting formats before shift completion.
• Conduct comprehensive hand-over reports to the incoming supervisor, ensuring continuity of service.
Risk Management & Compliance
• Report and document damage, theft, loss, or safety concerns immediately to management.
• Respond swiftly to emergency cleaning needs and unexpected guest or team requirements.
• Uphold resort safety policies, ensuring compliance across all public areas and team activities.
Qualifications
• Experience: Two-Three years’ experience in hospitality industry preferably in Public Area Supervisor roles.
• Education: Must have completed secondary school education and preferably received a college education or taken applicable continuing education courses. Be able to demonstrate strong Mathematical and English language skills (spelling and grammar) and must be computer literate. A proven ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of people.
• General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Must have good eye for detail and be accurate and thorough in one’s work with good follow up.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products as well as OPERA and Excel knowledge
• Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
