The Team
As part of the Culinary Division—dedicated to delivering exceptional gastronomic experiences that reflect the essence of each locale—you will shape the strategic development and operational excellence of all culinary offerings across the hotel. You will collaborate closely with Food & Beverage, Events, Talent & Culture, and fellow Executive Committee members to ensure a seamless and elevated guest experience.
Your Role
As Director of Culinary, you will define and lead the hotel’s culinary vision. You will champion creativity, quality, and heartfelt hospitality across all outlets, driving innovation in menu development and operational standards. Your leadership will enhance guest satisfaction, strengthen financial performance, and position the hotel as a leader in luxury dining.
How You’ll Make the Place
- Lead the development and execution of culinary strategies aligned with brand identity and financial goals
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across outlets and banquets
- Review menus, analyze recipes, and determine pricing based on food, labor, and overhead costs
- Forecast food consumption and manage procurement of ingredients and supplies
- Develop innovative recipes and signature dishes that reflect outlet concepts and local market trends
- Enforce nutrition, hygiene, and sanitation standards across all culinary areas
- Introduce new products and evaluate market viability, pricing, and guest appeal
- Ensure à la minute preparation of fresh, high‑quality dishes
- Support pre‑opening strategy and execution in partnership with F&B leadership and corporate teams
- Supervise kitchen personnel and coordinate assignments for timely, cost‑effective production
- Collaborate with Executive Committee members to support overall hotel success
- Taste and monitor food and beverage offerings, providing feedback to maintain excellence
- Maintain presentation standards and ensure all culinary facilities and equipment remain clean and well‑maintained
- Communicate key developments to the relevant departments
- Prepare and update the annual Marketing Plan for the culinary division
- Evaluate market trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge
- Drive business growth through marketing initiatives, partnerships, and new culinary concepts
- Foster a positive work environment and mentor associates at all levels
- Conduct regular meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions
- Promote recognition programs and divisional incentives to motivate the team
- Ensure compliance with disciplinary procedures and support Talent & Culture in associate matters
- Lead recruitment and succession planning to build a capable, diverse team
- Model Rosewood’s culture, vision, and values in all decisions and interactions
Could This Be You?
- Proven leadership in culinary operations with a strategic, entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to drive business results
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience contributing to the successful pre‑opening of a luxury hotel
- Knowledge of U.S. and California hospitality and building regulations
- Deep understanding of guest‑centric service and luxury hospitality standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, or equivalent experience
- Senior‑level Food & Beverage experience within a luxury hotel environment
- Background in hospitality or luxury environments that strengthens your profile

The salary range for this position is $190,000 – $210,000 annually. This range reflects what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Bonus eligibility may apply. Individual compensation decisions consider experience, type of experience, location, and education.
