Position Overview

Rosewood Red Sea seeks a visionary Director of Spa & Wellness to design, open, and lead an ultra-luxury wellness destination aligned with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place®. The role oversees spa, fitness, movement, hydrothermal and ritual experiences (including hammam), salon/retail where applicable, and cross-resort wellness activations. The successful candidate will drive guest transformation, brand distinction, and commercial results through innovative programming and flawless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the spa & wellness vision, service philosophy, and signature rituals inspired by the Red Sea and local traditions.
  • Lead all pre-opening workstreams: OS&E/FF&E, equipment selection, layout flow, hydrothermal specs, vendor RFPs, and critical path.
  • Establish SOPs and training to achieve LQA/Forbes standards; run service simulations prior to opening.
  • Own commercial strategy and P&L: pricing, packaging, yield management, therapist productivity, capture rate, and retail penetration.
  • Build integrated programs across treatments, movement, mindfulness, recovery, and sleep; curate seasonal calendars and retreats.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications on positioning, PR/influencer plans, content assets, and digital bookability/CRM.
  • Ensure daily operational excellence across reservations, reception, locker/hydro circuits, treatment delivery, retail, and facility upkeep.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing international team with certification compliance and succession plans.
  • Curate and negotiate brand/retail partnerships; optimize assortment, merchandising standards, inventory control, and sell-through.
  • Safeguard hygiene, sanitation, product safety, MOH licensing, and risk management; lead audits and incident response.
  • Align with Red Sea Global’s sustainability vision: ethical sourcing, waste and water stewardship, and community engagement.
  • Deploy dashboards and insights for demand forecasting, utilization, guest feedback, and campaign ROI; translate data into action.
  • Collaborate closely with Rooms, Culinary, Recreation, Engineering, Finance, and T&C/HR to deliver seamless guest journeys.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10–12+ years of luxury spa & wellness leadership with 3–5 years heading a flagship or resort spa; pre-opening experience required.
  • Recognized therapy/beauty/wellness certifications; degree in Hospitality/Business/Wellness Management preferred.
  • Proven commercial acumen with full P&L ownership, pricing and yield strategy, and strong retail results.
  • Expertise in hydrothermal operations and ritual programs (e.g., hammam), plus integrated wellness (fitness, movement, mindfulness).
  • Track record achieving LQA/Forbes benchmarks and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Proficiency with spa scheduling/POS and CRM/analytics platforms; data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills; fluent English required, Arabic an advantage.
