A Day in the Life
As a Bellman at Rosewood Amsterdam, your day begins at the hotel’s main entrance, where you greet every guest and visitor with warmth and professionalism. You’ll assist with luggage, guide guests to their rooms, and introduce them to the hotel’s world-class services and amenities. Whether it’s coordinating transportation, sharing insights about local attractions, or responding to special requests, you are the first and lasting impression of Rosewood hospitality. Your role is essential in ensuring every guest’s arrival, stay, and departure is seamless and memorable.
Job Summary
The Bellman is stationed at the hotel’s main entrance and serves as the first point of contact for guests and visitors. This role is responsible for greeting guests, managing their luggage, and providing exceptional service throughout their stay. Acting as a key player in the Front Office team, the Bellman ensures that every guest feels valued and cared for while maintaining Rosewood’s standards of luxury and service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience:
- Personally meet and greet arriving guests, open car doors, and assist with securing luggage and personal items prior to check-in.
- Escort guests to their rooms, providing an overview of the hotel’s services and facilities.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and ensure a personalized experience from arrival to departure.
- Assist guests with transportation arrangements and provide recommendations for local attractions and activities.
Operational Excellence:
- Handle guests’ luggage with care, ensuring timely delivery to and from guest rooms.
- Act as a Doorman when required, managing the entrance area and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned work areas.
- Assist the Front Desk as needed to ensure seamless service during peak times.
Standards and Compliance:
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards, including Forbes and LQA.
- Ensure superior standards of service are maintained daily in line with Rosewood’s commitment to excellence.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with the Bell-Door Supervisor and other team members.
- Log and relay guest requests or issues promptly to the relevant departments.
- Provide accurate information about hotel services and features to respond to guest inquiries.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment is an advantage.
Skills:
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A valid driving license (Type B) is essential.
Languages:
- Excellent spoken and written English is required.
- Knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset.
