Rosewood Washington, D.C. is looking for a Food Runner to join our team at CUT Restaurant by Wolfgang Puck! Nestled in the heart of historic Georgetown, our property blends timeless elegance with modern luxury, and our passionate team is committed to delivering intuitive, heartfelt service that reflects the spirit of Relationship Hospitality.

 

CUT by Wolfgang Puck is one of the most sought-after steak restaurants in the world. Our menu offerings reflect the unique spirit and sensibility of the Washington metropolitan area, highlighting our partnerships with local farms and purveyors who are committed to sustainable, organic, and biodynamic processes.  

 

HOURLY RATE: $12.00 per hour, plus gratuity

 

Schedule: Flexible availability is required for this position to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

 

OVERVIEW: To deliver all quality food and beverage service to guests courteously and efficiently.  Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment.  Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and service standards to maintain a high level of guest service
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring specific attention to allergies and special requests
  • Assist guests with menu selections by explaining items, specials, and making recommendations
  • Support servers with table setup and maintenance, including placing appropriate tableware, utensils, napkins, and décor
  • Remove used dishes and glassware in a timely manner to maintain a clean and organized dining environment
  • Monitor tables and check in with guests to address any additional needs, requests, or concerns
  • Uphold all food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, responsive, and courteous service throughout the dining experience
  • Accurately communicate food orders to guests, including details related to dietary restrictions and special requests
  • Relay guest feedback, concerns, and service issues to servers and management promptly
  • Maintain positive guest relations and contribute to an overall exceptional dining experience
  • Answer guest inquiries accurately regarding menu items, amenities, hotel services, and local attractions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ of experience as a food runner or server in a luxury or 4- to 5- star restaurant. 
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand our guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest/ associate information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to understand guests' service needs; ability to be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to guests within any given period of time; ability to focus attention on details; ability to access and input information into P.O.S. system; ability to maintain good coordination while serving orders quickly; ability to exert physical effort in transporting food and beverage to guests; ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas; ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision; ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting a minimum of 35 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas; reach up and down, push and pull, remain standing stationary for long periods of time throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
