A Day in the Life
As a Concierge at Rosewood Amsterdam, your day begins with offering a warm, personalized welcome to each guest. You’ll connect with guests to understand their needs and craft tailored recommendations for exploring Amsterdam. From securing tickets to exclusive events and arranging transportation to making dining reservations and answering special requests, you’ll ensure each interaction exceeds expectations. Working closely with the Guest Experience team, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating seamless and memorable stays for every guest, including VIPs. At the end of the day, you’ll take pride in knowing you’ve contributed to the exceptional experiences that define Rosewood.
Job Summary
The Concierge is responsible for responding to a wide variety of guest requests, accurately assessing their needs, and providing personalized recommendations to create unforgettable experiences. This role requires a deep knowledge of Amsterdam and its surroundings, along with the ability to deliver exceptional service while maintaining Rosewood’s high standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience:
- Offer a warm, sincere, and personalized welcome to all guests.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest needs and requests, ensuring the highest standards of integrity.
- Create meaningful conversations to understand and record guest preferences for future stays.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive solutions to enhance their experience.
- Arrange tickets for theater, sporting events, and local attractions.
- Make and confirm dining reservations and recommend local restaurants.
Operational Excellence:
- Assist with Front Desk and Guest Services tasks as needed, including rooming, arrivals, and departures.
- Arrange transportation and provide clear directions for guests traveling outside the hotel.
- Prepare and maintain a well-organized concierge desk, ensuring all tools and resources are available.
- Collaborate with the Guest Experience team to ensure a seamless service flow, particularly for VIP guests.
- Comply with quality assurance standards (Forbes and LQA) and follow all hotel policies and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments to deliver a unified and exceptional guest experience.
- Communicate guest preferences, feedback, and important details with management and colleagues.
- Assist with package deliveries, pickups, and other logistical requests.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience in a luxury hospitality environment is required.
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Amsterdam’s attractions, dining, cultural experiences, and local transportation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products; experience with Alice and PMS Opera is a plus.
Skills:
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-oriented mindset.
- Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting guest needs.
Languages:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) is required.
- Knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage.
Personal Qualities:
- Positive and engaging attitude with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Team-oriented and flexible, with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
