A Day in the Life

As a Door Attendant at Rosewood Amsterdam, you are the first and last impression of our guests’ journey. From opening the hotel entrance door with a warm smile to assisting with luggage and providing local insights, your role is to ensure each guest feels welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive until their departure. You’ll take pride in managing the flow of activity at the entrance, maintaining its pristine appearance, and creating meaningful interactions with guests. Whether sharing directions, arranging transportation, or facilitating a seamless arrival, your day is centered around making each guest experience extraordinary.

Job Summary

The Door Attendant is the first and last point of contact for guests at Rosewood Amsterdam. This role involves taking ownership of the guest arrival and departure experience, maintaining the entrance's impeccable standards, and delivering personalized, anticipatory service. The Door Attendant plays a crucial role in shaping guests' first and final impressions, ensuring they are welcomed with the warmth and elegance synonymous with Rosewood.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience:

  • Initiate contact with guests and visitors, warmly greeting them as they enter and leave the hotel.
  • Create meaningful conversations to identify personal preferences, enhancing the guest experience by anticipating and exceeding expectations.
  • Be knowledgeable about in-house, arriving, and departing guests to personalize interactions.
  • Provide accurate information about local attractions, directions, transportation options, and estimated travel times.

Operational Excellence:

  • Open and close the hotel entrance door while assisting guests with their luggage.
  • Manage the flow of street traffic outside the property and ensure the entrance area is always clean and inviting.
  • Ensure the Front Door is always attended, accommodating all guest requests promptly and courteously.
  • Safeguard guest vehicle parking and manage vehicle keys responsibly.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate important guest details and preferences to management and colleagues to ensure seamless service.
  • Work closely with all departments to support guest needs and provide an exceptional experience.
  • Assist and support Guest Service Agents as needed to enhance operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience in the luxury hotel industry is preferred.

Skills:

  • Passionate and proactive attitude with a strong sense of quality and responsibility.
  • Warm, engaging, and guest-centric demeanor.
  • High level of professionalism with excellent manners and a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently with attention to detail, even during busy periods.

Technical Skills:

  • Must have a valid driving license (Type B) for vehicle handling and parking responsibilities.

Languages:

  • Excellent spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
