Impact of this role

You will support the transformation of Rosewood Hotel Group into a purpose-driven company creating a future where people and place enrich one another. You will help embed positive environmental and social impact in business operations, support the execution of a groupwide sustainability strategy and drive greater understanding of our purpose-driven ambition. This role will give you a chance to be creative, exercise agility, and influence a wide range of stakeholders across a global portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of a sustainability strategy that is fiscally sound and helps achieve our purpose across people and place, with a specific focus on business operations and planning.
• Lead the groupwide net zero journey, including:
• Developing and implementing a decarbonization roadmap that leads to 50% reduction in emissions by 2035 and achieves net zero by 2050;
• Cascading awareness across corporate functions as well as hotels.
• Develop and evolve programs that (1) support our net zero ambition by bringing circular solutions to life and (2) enable equitable access to opportunity for all people in our ecosystem.
• Key projects include supporting select properties on ambitious sustainability journeys, and integrating impact and sustainability into Rooms and F&B.
• Facilitate the development of high-impact global and hotel targets, as well as the education, trainings and best practices that will help achieve them.
• Support the integration of sustainability principles and actions in pipeline projects.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across hotels to support implementation and resolve pain points.
• Position the impact and sustainability team as a secretariat for portfolio hotels to seek advice, support and guidance on all matters related to sustainability.
• Drive internal and external communication on impact and sustainability.
• Seek out innovations in the global impact/sustainability space and seed across the company.

Required Skills

• Hospitality professional with at least 5 years of experience who is passionate about catalysing transformation into a business-with-purpose.
• Minimum 3 years of direct or adjacent experience in sustainability.
• Demonstrable experience in project management.
• Hands-on executor with proven success of breaking down high-level vision into clear action plans and driving project execution.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to help build collaborations across departments and ensure a drumbeat rhythm of execution.
• Proficiency in analysing quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and support evidence-based decision-making.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages and adapt them to different internal and external audiences.
• Entrepreneurial mindset that fosters an innovative approach to problem solving.
• Willingness to learn, adapt and grow within a new but critical function in a fast-growing company.
• Experience with luxury brands will be a plus.
