必須の業務と責任(主要な活動)
  • ホテル全体の日常的なエンジニアリング業務、予防保全、修理業務を監督する。
  • 最高の安全性と運営基準を維持するため、エンジニアリングスタッフを監督、教育する。
  • エンジニアリングディレクターを補佐し、不在時にはリーダーとして行動する。
  • 日本の建築基準法、火災安全規制、持続可能性への取り組みを確実に遵守する。

一般的なスキル
  • 日本語、英語(話し言葉、書き言葉)に堪能であること。
  • 日本でのエンジニアリング・マネジメント経験があること。
  • 10年以上のエンジニアリング・マネジメント経験とエンジニアリング関連分野の学位(ビザ取得に必要)。
  • ビルメンテナンス、電気、配管、HVACシステムに関する技術的知識が豊富であること。
  • テンポの速いラグジュアリーなホスピタリティ環境で、チームをリードし、タスクに優先順位をつけ、プレッシャーの中で仕事をする能力。

Job Summary

Rosewood Miyakojima is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join our team. This leadership role ensures the maintenance and operational efficiency of all hotel facilities while upholding the highest standards of guest service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as experience managing engineering teams in Japan. This is a unique opportunity to be part of Rosewood Miyakojima’s world-class team, delivering exceptional service in one of Japan’s most stunning island destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily engineering operations, preventive maintenance, and repair work across the hotel.
  • Supervise and train engineering staff to maintain the highest safety and operational standards.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering and act as the leader in their absence.
  • Ensure compliance with Japanese building codes, fire safety regulations, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Respond to guest concerns and maintenance requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with other hotel departments to support operational needs.

Required Skills – General skills:
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written). Preference is for candidates that have the ability to speak, read and write both Japanese and English.
  • Previous experience in engineering management in Japan is required.
  • 10+ years of engineering management experience and a degree in an engineering-related field (required for visa qualification).
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
