The Housekeeping team is responsible for cleaning, organizing and maintaining guest rooms and other public areas of a hotel. They maintain a pleasant ambiance by meeting tidiness and cleanliness standards throughout the facility, creating a better and safer guest environment. Responsibilities of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager include organizing and maintaining a high degree of excellence/maintenance in guest rooms, suites, corridors, fire exits, stairways, service rooms and public areas of the hotel that are equal to the high level of guest and management expectations, in order to enhance its image of one of the finest luxury hotels

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all company brand standards have been implemented.
  • Work closely with other associates in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
  • Contribute to the collective commitment of a unique guest experience - to create a sense of place.
  • Handle guests concerns and comments and find a proper resolution to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee the overall running of the Housekeeping department. This role reports to Director of Housekeeping  and will be responsible for leading the overall operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry department; assuring that our guest rooms, public areas and employee areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. 
  • Oversee the personal grooming of all Housekeeping associates. To ensure that they 
  • Ensure all associates attend fire, health and safety and bomb evacuation procedures.  
  • Ensure that Rosewood standards are met through team leadership, training and development, ensuring 
  • Provide daily inspector of all areas to provide hotel standards and address necessary orders to correct shortcomings.
  • Lead guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism 
  • Accommodate special requests wherever possible
  • Establish and maintain cleaning and preventative maintenance programs to ensure appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms, public and back of house areas, in accordance with procedures set forth by Rosewood
  • Coordinate work orders in assigned section and follow up to be sure work is completed 
  • Resolve guests’ complaints, handling all interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. 
  • Ensure floors and storages are fully stocked based on the inventory and raise the necessary purchase requisitions.
  • Cooperate with outsourced staff, external contractors and other departments ensuring guests’ satisfaction.
  • Assist with responsibilities and duties in crunch situations on the floor, public areas, back of the house and laundry.

Skills
  • Experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager for a luxury or ultra -luxury hotel.
  • Must be able to speak in English, Dutch is a bonus
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
  • Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies.
  • Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
  • Model the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
