OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations at Rosewood Amaala, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction in alignment with Rosewood’s luxury brand standards. This role involves leading a team of housekeeping professionals, managing operational efficiency, and maintaining exceptional standards of service and hygiene throughout the property. The Director will collaborate with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience while ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards to maintain a pristine and luxurious environment across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Lead, train, and motivate a diverse housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations of housekeeping staff to ensure optimal staffing levels and service quality.
- Manage the housekeeping budget, including labor costs, supplies, and equipment, to ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including local Saudi Arabian standards and Rosewood’s global protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage, to coordinate services and address guest needs promptly.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring timely procurement and cost control.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure adherence to Rosewood’s luxury standards.
- Implement sustainability initiatives, such as eco-friendly cleaning products and waste reduction programs, in line with Rosewood’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly, ensuring resolutions align with the hotel’s commitment to exceptional service.
- Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in housekeeping to continuously improve operations and guest satisfaction.
- Prepare reports on housekeeping performance, including cleanliness scores, guest satisfaction metrics, and operational efficiency, for senior management.
QULIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in housekeeping management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Proven track record of leading large, diverse teams in a high-paced, luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning techniques, equipment, and inventory management.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
