We are seeking a personable and outgoing individual with a passion for mixology and beverage service. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives on creating exceptional guest experiences, takes pride in their craft, and is dedicated to continuous growth and improvement in the field. This role demands a strong knowledge of spirits, beverages, and industry trends, as well as the ability to adapt to evolving customer preferences.

Responsibilities include assisting in the efficient operation of the bar, ensuring smooth service, and upholding the highest standards of hospitality to align with hotel guidelines. The candidate should also contribute to the profitability of the bar operation through excellent service and innovative drink preparation. Flexibility is key, as this position requires working shifts across designated areas and collaborating within a dynamic, multi-skilled Food and Beverage team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

• Thorough knowledge of product recipes and proper service procedures. Responsible for all products stocked and requisitioned to the bar.

• Collection of money generated as revenue and the proper deposit made at the end of each shift. Proper recordkeeping on guest checks at the point of sale.

• Responsible for bar set-up at the beginning of each shift. Responsible for closing the bar and restocking used items. Responsible for cleanliness of the bar and reporting all maintenance needs to the manager.

• Monitor and adhere to the rules and regulations established by the NM Alcohol and Beverage Control Division; includes monitoring of guest consumption and knowledge of procedures for handling intoxicated guests.

• Thorough knowledge of and correct application of all hotel policies, procedures, and practices.

• Responsible for maintaining hotel standards of excellence relating to attitude, customer service, employee relations, and job performance.

• Responsible for guest relations including guest's name and product preferences.

• Attendance at all scheduled meetings.

Other Standard Responsibilities –

Experience -

• Minimum of two years bartending experience in high volume operation.

• Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Technical Skills -

• Must have Food Handler and alcohol server's certification or become certified as required by company policy.

• Cash handling experience with ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers.

• Ability to clearly communicate information to customers, managers, fellow employees.

• Ability to lift 35 lbs 5 times a day.

• Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.

Education or Certification -

Language – Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred

Physical Requirements -

• Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
