Rosewood Miramar Beach, A Rosewood Hotel, is looking for a Security Officer. This role is responsible and ensure the safety and security of all guests, associates and property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report for duty punctually ready to work in full uniform paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness.
  • Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and associates and to protect all hotel assets.
  • Answer house calls, assist guests and associate’s safety and security in hotel.
  • Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
  • Assist sick and injured guests and associates, ensuring documentation and disposition of reports.
  • Check all alarm systems, safety and fire equipment systems and closely monitor security of building doors, service areas and delivery areas.
  • Maintain accurate records while engaging in basic office duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, shift activity log, code book, and associate and guest binder interaction.
  • Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.
  • Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the Company.
  • Respond to incidents of disaster, healthcare facility emergency codes, fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous material event, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for post, by the company, or through training or certification.
  • Accurately log and maintains the Lost and Found department log while adhering to the stated restrictions as they appear in the departmental manual. Assures that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with standards.
  • Handle all guest-related incidents as necessary.
  • Monitor railroad tracks for train and assist guests across tracks when it is safe to do so.
  • Advise all in the area of the approaching train and do not allow passage when railroad alerts begin to sound.
  • Ensure the railroad train tracks are monitored at all times (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) and ensure the crossing gates for the railroad tracks are closed at all times.
  • All other duties as required.

Workplace Safety: Is aware of and works within healthcare facility and departmental safety guidelines, including reporting potential hazards and hazardous behavior.

  • Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications: High School diploma and hospitality background.

Experience: Previous experience as a Security Officer for a luxury or ultra-luxury property is highly preferred.

The pay scale for this position is between $21.00 and $22.00/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
