Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain an excellent standard of customer service.
• Provide a tennis programme which caters for all adult and children guests, incorporating group coaching, free play, social tennis, and private lessons.
• Assist in the preparation, organisation and delivery of a weekly tennis tournament.
• Promote the tennis programme and actively aim to increase participation.
• Ensure Health and safety is to the highest standard both on and off the courts.
• Take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of Little Dix Bay equipment and the satisfactory appearance of sites to ensure the meeting of guest expectations.
• Work as part of a team to set up, pack up, and proactively provide assistance to all guests using the tennis equipment each day.
• To practically help with the set-up of the centre at the start of the session and the pack down of the resort at the end of the season.
• Help organize and host social events, deliver briefings and generally interact with guests at all times.
• Be flexible in your job role and willing to assist in all other duties, within reason, as requested by your manager according to training you have been given.
• Should be outgoing, reliable, and knowledgeable in all aspects of tennis, and 100% committed to providing a fun and competitive playing environment for all our junior and adult guests.
• Design lessons/activities for the duration of the session that address the skill level of the guests & must have the ability to be upbeat and energetic throughout each lesson.
• Provide a friendly approach and help provide a welcoming environment to each guest.
• Collect, manage, and return all equipment in good working condition.
• Practice professionalism by keeping a neat and tidy appearance and wearing the tennis instructor shirt at each lesson.
• Ensure that the guests are engaged in the lessons/activities at all times and that each guest feels successful at every session.
• Share your passion for the game of tennis. Make guests smile!
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Certified Tennis Professional (PTR, USPTA, LTA, or equivalent internationally recognized certification).
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
• High school diploma required; degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Hospitality, or related field is an asset.
Experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Tennis Professional, Tennis Coach, in a resort, club, academy, or luxury hospitality environment.
• Proven experience delivering private lessons, group clinics, junior programs, and social tennis events for players of varying ages and skill levels.
• Previous experience in a luxury resort, private club, or destination hospitality setting strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
• Strong technical coaching skills with the ability to assess player performance and develop customized improvement plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, engaging, and guest-focused approach.
• Ability to create memorable guest experiences while promoting resort activities and tennis programming.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including court scheduling, lesson administration, and equipment management.
