Arbol is an F&B outlet team with unique concepts and dynamism within the department.

Arbol is the signature specialty restaurant at Las Ventanas al Paraíso. This venue features a combination of pan Asiatic cuisines with an eclectic finesse and unique setting that have contributed for Arbol to remain amongst the top restaurants in the destination.

 

 

THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE

 

As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Hostess plays a pivotal role in shaping the overall dining experience. This role is not merely about managing seating logistics — it is about creating a gracious, seamless, and personalized journey from the moment the guest arrives to their final farewell.

By embodying the Rosewood brand philosophy of "A Sense of Place" and upholding the highest standards of luxury service as defined by LQA and Forbes, the Hostess sets the emotional tone for the guest's experience. Their attentiveness, warmth, and precision create trust, elevate service perception, and foster guest loyalty.

In this role, every detail matters — from remembering guest preferences to coordinating smooth communication between teams. The Hostess serves as the emotional anchor of the restaurant, ensuring each guest feels seen, valued, and genuinely cared for.

Ultimately, the success of the dining operation and guest satisfaction begins and ends at the host stand — making this role one of the most impactful positions in the restaurant.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide each guest with a warm, genuine, and anticipatory welcome, reflecting the sense of place and personalized service that define Rosewood's philosophy.
  • Ensure an elegant and professional presence at the host always stand, maintaining proper posture, grooming, and a welcoming demeanor as outlined by Forbes standards.
  • Manage the seating plan efficiently, balancing guest preferences with operational needs while ensuring fair station rotation and seamless flow of service.
  • Maintain full awareness of daily reservations, VIPs, guest preferences, allergies, and special occasions; communicate relevant information promptly and accurately to service staff.
  • Answer telephone calls within three rings, using the approved Rosewood script and etiquette, demonstrating proactive problem solving and service recovery where necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of host podium and front-of-house always.
  • Ensure menu stock is adequate, updated, and clean, in accordance with LQA presentation standards.
  • Maintain updated documentation on guest allergies and dietary restrictions, prepare and distribute reports before each shift.
  • Execute personalized greetings and fond farewells, remembering guest names and preferences, when possible, in line with Forbes standards for recognition and connection.
  • Assist in training new hosts/hostesses in service standards and brand philosophy, reinforcing a culture of gracious and intuitive hospitality.
  • Support restaurant leadership by identifying opportunities for guest delight, service improvements, and operational efficiency.

 

 

CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Clear, professional, and engaging verbal communication in both English and Spanish, with a warm tone and confident presence.
  • Guest-Centric Mindset: Strong ability to anticipate guest needs, personalize interactions, and create meaningful connections that reflect Rosewood’s commitment to intuitive service.
  • Poised and Professional Presentation: Impeccable grooming and uniform standards; exudes calm confidence and elegance in high-pressure or high-profile scenarios.
  • Multitasking & Organizational Abilities: Skilled in managing reservations, guest flow, phone etiquette, and last-minute changes with precision and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of Forbes & LQA Standards: Familiarity with luxury hospitality benchmarks and ability to consistently execute service that meets or exceeds these expectations.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Able to handle sensitive guest information, preferences, and feedback with absolute professionalism and discretion.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms, OpenTable), Microsoft Office, and internal reporting tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Works harmoniously with all front- and back-of-house departments, promoting seamless communication and a strong service culture.
  • Time Management: Highly punctual and dependable, with strong adherence to shift schedules and opening/closing procedures.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality or fine dining preferred.

This position provides continuous development regarding food & beverages / specialty & fine dining service within an ultra-luxury brand setting the possibility of performing horizontal growth among outlets as daily training and teamwork development skills are always present.
