About the Role

The Painter and Decorator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of The Chancery Rosewood through expert painting, decorating, and finishing techniques. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are visually appealing, aligning with the hotel standards and those of the Rosewood Hotels and Resorts Company. The Painter and Decorator works on a variety of projects and utilises a variety of skills, including surface preparation, wallpaper application, colour matching, and decorative finishes. The role reports into the Engineering Supervisor.

• Carry out planned preventative decorating activities in accordance with the company and departmental standards to all areas of the hotel. This will include guest bedrooms, public areas, and all back of house areas.
• Carry out regular floor walks to inspect all wall coverings and paintwork to guest corridors and public areas including, back of house.
• Carry out regular inspections of guest bedrooms for damaged/dirty paintwork and wall coverings, which will form part of a structured planned maintenance regime.
• Maintain stock levels of paint, equipment and all materials required to carry out the work.
• Pro-actively advise Engineering management on specific painting requirements throughout the hotel.
• Keep updated and familiar with techniques, equipment and practices relevant to the trade.
• Protect the assets of the hotel and company, including any items of uniform and company tools issued.
• Communicate on a daily basis at the end of each shift to debrief your manager on completed tasks throughout that day.
• Assist fellow associates at times when assistance is required.
• Always strive to improve “job” knowledge.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and to maintain a safe working environment
• Maintain effective communication both within the department and to other departments and ensure the Director is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
