Job Summary
To provide an efficient and courteous service and exceeds our operating standards at all times. To demonstrate the highest level of hospitality and professionalism and must act as an ambassador for the hotel, displaying a great sense of style and integrity.
Supports the Pool and Beach Manager in all aspects of the pool and beach areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness and operation. Provides and models service behavior to guests and employees. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance in areas of responsibility. Position works with direct reports to carry out departmental strategies.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must possess valid professional qualification and technical knowledge pertaining to the specified role and ability to work under pressure whilst working efficiently and effectively. Must have high endurance of work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Supervise and manage employees to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
Understand all team roles well enough to perform duties in their absence.
Monitor service quality, standards, and guest satisfaction consistently.
Maintain full knowledge of products, systems, services, and operational procedures.
• Schedule programs, activities, and staff assignments efficiently.
Ensure all Pool & Beach and Watersports areas remain clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained.
Manage setup and breakdown for beach events, group activities, sand painting, bonfires, and team-building functions.
Monitoring equipment daily (kayaks, paddleboards, umbrellas, chairs, floats, bicycles, towels, etc.).
Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
Serve as a role model by demonstrating professional and exemplary service behavior.
Deliver service that exceeds guest expectations for satisfaction and retention.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and feedback.
Ensure all LQA and Rosewood Brand Standards are consistently met.
Support the coordination and billing of guest rentals and activities.
People Management & Training
Coach, mentor, and guide team members to develop skills and achieve performance goals.
Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and use disciplinary steps when required.
Conduct daily line-ups, grooming checks, and regular departmental meetings.
Coordinate and facilitate training for Pool & Beach and Watersports teams, including annual retraining programs.
Foster a culture of trust, respect, teamwork, and open communication.
Ensure proper departmental coverage across all shifts, even when staffing disruptions occur.
Watersports Oversight
Support and oversee Watersports team members, ensuring safe and smooth operations.
Maintain knowledge of all watersports activities and equipment.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all procedures and standards.
Assist guests when necessary, including entering the water in case of emergency or requested support.
Safety & Emergency Readiness
Certified First Aid provider and able to respond to guest emergencies.
Must be able to swim confidently and assist guests in the water when needed.
Ensure safety protocols are followed across all Pool, Beach, and Watersports operations.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
Complete weekly timesheets and ensure timely submission for payroll.
Schedule team based on occupancy forecasts and event needs.
Maintain clear communication with F&B, Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments.
Advise Engineering on repairs, maintenance needs, or damaged property.
Support budgeting, cost control, and asset management for Pool & Beach operations.
Maintain project lists, track completion, and document all follow-up actions.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong leadership and supervisory experience within hospitality operations.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Professional appearance and behavior at all times.
Knowledge of watersports operations and beach/pool service environments.
Certified in First Aid and CPR (or able to obtain immediately after hiring).
Strong swimmer; able to assist guests in water-based situations.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with LQA standards and luxury service expectations.
Standard Responsibilities
Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies.
Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
Model the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
Review Forbes / Rosewood Brand standards and quality standards (LQA) on a regular basis and ensure they are maintained and delivered at all times.
Ensure new technology and equipment is embraced, improving productivity whilst taking work out of the system.
Establish and maintain an inclusive environment by ensuring effective two ways communication processes are set up (individual reviews, regular departmental meetings).
Responsible for the recruitment, in conjunction with the Talent & Culture Department, of associates.
Identify training and development needs on an ongoing basis through hands-on support and frequent interaction with associates.
Lead by example in terms of appearance, mannerism, etiquette, behavior conduct, principles and values. Manage by walking around at appropriate times and leads by personal example in terms of guest interaction.
Confidentiality
Whist working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests and associates. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company, guests and associates, unless otherwise stated.
Health & Safety
Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Act as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace.
The wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory.
Report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.
Ensure that any accidents to associates, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
Attend Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.

As the hotel’s level of business varies considerably, there is a need for flexibility in attitude, approach and working hours.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in luxury hospitality, preferably in Pool & Beach, Recreation, Watersports, or Food & Beverage operations.
At least 2 to 3 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a guest-facing environment.
Experience in managing teams, scheduling, coaching, and operational planning.
Background in watersports operations or beachfront service is strongly preferred.
Proven track record of delivering high service standards (LQA or Forbes experience is an advantage).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Hospitality, Tourism, or Recreation Management certification/degree preferred.
First Aid and CPR certification required (or must be obtained immediately upon hire).
Additional watersports, lifeguarding, or safety training is an advantage.
General Skills:
Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Ability to motivate and coach a multicultural team.
High level of emotional intelligence and guest service orientation.
Strong organization, time-management, and multitasking skills.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
Comfortable working outdoors in beach and pool environments for extended periods
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of LQA and Forbes service standards.
Familiarity with water sports equipment, safety procedures, and beach operations.
Proficient in using POS systems, scheduling platforms, and basic administrative tools.
Ability to perform inventory control and basic budgeting.
Strong understanding of safety protocols, guest activity coordination, and emergency response procedures.
Confident swimmer capable of assisting guests in water-based situations.
Language:
Required to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Additional languages preferred (Spanish, French, or other commonly used guest languages).
