Rosewood Amsterdam is offering a unique opportunity for people with no culinary or cooking experience, to kick off their career as a Kitchen Assistant. The course, fully funded by Rosewood begins in February 2025, and lasting for a period of 12 weeks, will teach the successful applicants all about culinary and working in a kitchen. 

Once the course is complete, the successful graduates would potentially have the opportunity to join Rosewood as a Kitchen Assistant. Given it is an entry level course and role, this is ideal for people with no kitchen or cooking experience. 

We will offer full sponsorship for the course, which includes 12 intensive training days held weekly on Mondays or Tuesdays, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, starting in February 2025 


Within this course you will have hands-on learning with real chefs, focusing on:
    • Cutting techniques
    • Preparation methods
    • Cleaning techniques (HACCP)
    • Product knowledge
    • General hospitality knowledge

This course also includes:
  • Practical sessions to apply what you learn, such as making fresh bread, sandwiches, soups, sauces, and more.
  • Special visits to suppliers and workshops with guest chefs, enhancing your understanding of the culinary world.

Once you graduate from the course your Responsibilities as a Kitchen Assistant, will include:
  • Assisting the chef in cooking and preparation.
  • Managing kitchen tasks and procuring ingredients.
  • Preparing basic dishes and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Supporting the team in delivering an exceptional dining experience.

What You Need:
  • A passion for the kitchen. Love of food. And be interested in the hospitality industry.
  • We do not provide sponsorship so a residency in the Netherlands is a must, preferably in or around Amsterdam.

This role is your first step towards becoming a Kitchen Assistant. The course is designed to provide practical, thorough training that equips you with the skills and confidence needed to excel in a busy kitchen environment.
