THE TEAM


As Sommelier, you will be a key member of the Food & Beverage team, working closely with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, venue leadership, Culinary, Events, Marketing, and service teams across the hotel.

You will collaborate across multiple restaurants, bars, banquets, and in-room dining, contributing to a cohesive yet concept-driven wine program that reflects Rosewood’s standards of refinement, storytelling, and guest-led luxury.


YOUR ROLE


As Sommelier, you will lead and evolve the hotel’s wine strategy across all Food & Beverage venues, in-room dining, and banquets. This role blends refined guest interaction with commercial and operational ownership—curating wine experiences that enhance guest moments while driving revenue, profitability, and brand distinction.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping how wine is experienced across the property—through thoughtful curation, confident service, strategic pricing, team education, and strong supplier partnerships—while acting as a role model for service excellence and wine knowledge.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE


  • Lead and continuously develop a cohesive, commercially effective wine program across all venues
  • Curate and maintain distinctive, concept-driven wine lists aligned with guest profiles and seasonality
  • Deliver elevated, personalized wine service experiences that build guest loyalty and recognition
  • Drive revenue through strategic wine selection, pricing, upselling, and performance analysis
  • Train, mentor, and inspire service teams to confidently recommend and sell wine
  • Oversee wine operations including cellar management, inventory control, and service execution


COULD THIS BE YOU?


  • You bring 3–5 years of experience in a sommelier or wine-focused role within luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality
  • You have strong knowledge of international wines, regions, vintages, and food pairing principles
  • You are commercially minded, with experience in wine pricing, cost control, and sales performance
  • You enjoy training and influencing teams, building confidence and consistency across multiple outlets
  • You thrive in dynamic, high-pressure service environments and remain calm and guest-focused
  • You communicate confidently in English; additional languages and wine certifications (WSET, CMS) are an advantage
