As a pioneering collective with a common purpose, we curate extraordinary moments and honor the soul of every place along our journey. At Rosewood Hotel Group, we answer The Calling. Together, we Make the Place.
THE TEAM
As a key member of the Impact & Sustainability function, you will help embed Rosewood’s purpose-led ambitions across environmental stewardship, social impact, and responsible operations. You will work closely with a broad range of collaborators across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Talent & Culture, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Communications, Procurement, and the Corporate Impact & Sustainability team. This role reports directly to the Resort Manager and will lead the Impact & Sustainability Manager at the property.
YOUR ROLE
As Director of Impact & Sustainability, you will champion Rosewood Ranfaru’s transformation into a regenerative, purpose-led destination where environmental protection, community partnership, and long-term value creation are embedded into daily operations. You will lead the development and execution of the property’s sustainability strategy, align it with Rosewood’s global goals, and ensure it resonates authentically with the Maldives context. Through collaboration, innovation, and rigorous implementation, you will elevate guest experience, strengthen brand positioning, and drive measurable progress across environmental and social impact priorities.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE
- Develop a property‑specific sustainability and impact strategy aligned with Rosewood’s global commitments.
- Create phased, practical roadmaps to implement sustainability initiatives across all departments.
- Integrate sustainability principles into guest experience, brand storytelling, and operational decision‑making.
- Optimize processes to lower environmental impact and advance circular systems across the resort.
- Foster associate awareness, education, and ownership to build a culture of responsible operations.
- Analyse impact metrics, ensure data integrity, and provide insight‑driven recommendations.
- Support the communication of impact initiatives through media, social channels, partnerships, and guest engagement.
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with community groups, artisans, NGOs, government agencies, and local suppliers.
COULD THIS BE YOU?
- You bring 8+ years of experience in hospitality or related industries and deeply understand hotel operations.
- You are passionate about environmental and social impact and have experience shaping or supporting sustainability strategies.
- You communicate complex ideas simply and clearly across diverse audiences.
- You collaborate naturally, influence effectively, and build trusted relationships with cross‑functional leaders.
- You excel at thinking strategically while managing detailed, operational plans.
- You navigate regulatory landscapes with ease and translate risks into opportunities.
- You are a hands‑on, solutions‑driven leader who thrives in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
- You have experience developing partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and external stakeholders.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
At Rosewood Hotel Group, your voice is heard – and valued. We’re a community that encourages associates to be themselves, not fit into a fixed culture, and this philosophy shines through in our commitments to reflect and honor the history, culture and geography of our destinations. We’re not only committed to building and nurturing genuine, long-lasting relationships but to transforming them – and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy helps put these principles into practice.
