Join our dynamic Finance Team as an Income Auditor, where you will be a key player in supporting finance operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Income Audit. You will help ensure compliance and optimize revenue processes in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
About Us
Our Finance Team consists of the Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, three Finance Clerks, and one Finance Intern. Together with the Purchasing Department, we maintain a high standard of financial integrity and service. We work closely across departments to ensure smooth and accurate operations while identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of income audit operations, including reviewing revenue transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Prepare a Daily Income Audit Package, shared with key department leaders including the Director of Rooms, F&B Director, and MD.
- Investigate and report discrepancies in the "Daily Management Review Package," including a summary report of voids and adjustments, and distribute to relevant stakeholders.
- Reconcile transactions daily between POS, PMS, and General Ledger systems, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Conduct audits and internal controls to identify discrepancies and minimize financial risks.
- Conduct surprise property checks and key operational finance audits (e.g., spot cash counts) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to guest queries and requests within 24-48 hours, keeping guests informed if additional time is required.
- Assist with audit requirements and requests as needed.
- Take on additional duties assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance or Director of Finance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills, enabling positive relationships with coworkers and vendors.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Resourceful, creative, and adaptable to new situations.
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Familiarity with hotel’s internal control systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of Birchstreet, Opera, and SunSystems is preferred.
- Previous experience as an Income Auditor in a hotel environment is essential.
