OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:


Take food and beverage orders, retrieve, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to resort specifications, courteously and efficiently.  collect payments, also assists in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment, responsible for training the new waiter/ food server, busser.


PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS


Must possess valid professional qualification and technical knowledge pertaining to the specified role and ability to work under pressure whilst working efficiently and effectively. Must have high endurance of work.

    Not drinking alcohol on duty without prior approval from Restaurant Manager or higher management.

 RESPONSIBILITES:


    Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental and Rosewood policies/service procedures/standards.

    Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.

    Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

    Always maintain positive guest and resident relations. Resolve guest complaints, always ensuring guest satisfaction.

    Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.

    Be familiar with all Resort services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

    Responsible to train the server, busser and hostess as per Rosewood Standards

    Responsible to take the daily meeting in the absence of restaurant manager / supervisor

    Flexible to work in any outlets even though at the last-minute request 

    Able to control the beverage & food costing and to check the grooming standards of the line associates

    Making cash drop behind from desk with manager.


Maintain complete knowledge of:

    table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the Restaurant.

    all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes in the restaurant.

    the characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

    all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish, and method of presentation.

    Knows all LQA, Forbes and Rosewood Brand Standards.

    P.O.S. and manual systems.

    Complete opening and closing side duties as assigned.

    Make sure all checks are sign and close in POS.

    Use guest names two or three when in contact.

    Prepares chinaware, cutlery, napkins, glassware for next day.

    Perform any other task that may be deemed necessary as instructed by supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:


    Experience: Two - Three years’ experience in hospitality industry in the specified role.


    Education: Must have completed secondary school education and preferably received a college education or taken applicable continuing education courses. Be able to demonstrate strong Mathematical and English language skills (spelling and grammar) and must be computer literate. A proven ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of people.   

    General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. Must have good eye for detail and be accurate and thorough in one’s work with good follow up.


    Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
