Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Operational Leadership

    Ownership of daily housekeeping operations including room assignments, cleaning schedules, and service delivery and laundry associates and facilities. 

    Supervise the Housekeeping Coordinator and other associates to ensure effective workflow, task management, and real-time system updates

    Ensure superior standards are consistently maintained daily

    Complete morning and evening reports, assist with room assignments, and maintain strict key control procedures

    Make weekly schedules for the department based on operational/business needs

    Ownership of Lost and Found process

    Initiate and oversee projects throughout the year to maintain the quality of the rooms.

    Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Housekeeper in their absence, providing effective leadership and ensuring seamless departmental operations, adherence to established procedures, and the consistent delivery of Rosewood, LQA, and Forbes Travel Guide standards.


Associate Management & Development

    Lead, coach, and develop housekeeping associates, including Coordinators, Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Supervisors

    Train new supervisors and support the training of all housekeeping and laundry associates

    Ensure an ongoing training program and regular standards updates are implemented across Housekeeping and Laundry

    Conduct periodic evaluations of associates to monitor performance, identify training needs, and address non-compliance

    Ensure monthly departmental and supervisory communication meetings are conducted


Quality Assurance & Inspections

    Ensure full compliance with Forbes Travel Guide and LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) standards

    Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, VIP rooms, public areas, villas, and back-of-house areas

    Personally supervise the cleaning of VIP rooms and notify Executive Housekeeper upon completion

    Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with all departmental policies, procedures, and service standards


Guest Experience Excellence

    Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and special arrangements

    Coordinate VIP arrivals, special requests, and communicate priorities to day and night teams

    Inform night staff of VIP rooms, special requests, and assignments to ensure seamless service

    Ensure all guest interactions reflect the highest level of hospitality and professionalism


Collaboration & Communication

    Foster strong collaboration with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments

    Work closely with laundry personnel and provide training when required

    Conduct regular walkthroughs with Supervisors to ensure adequate par levels of linens and supplies

    Maintain clear, consistent communication of room status, priorities, and operational updates


Maintenance & Preventative Care

    Submit recommendations to management for repairs, painting, and preventative maintenance

    Ensure proper upkeep of guest rooms, suites, villas, and public areas

    Monitor maintenance issues and follow up for resolution


Sustainability & Resource Management

    Champion sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, efficient resource use, and environmentally responsible practices

    Conduct periodic and full inventories of linens, supplies, and equipment

    Investigate and implement new cleaning methods, technologies, and tools to improve efficiency and sustainability

    Assist in purchasing and cost control initiatives


Systems & Administration

    Ensure accurate tracking of room status, productivity, and operational data

    Assist in payroll administration and record keeping

    Ensure all tasks, projects, and maintenance requests are properly logged and followed up

    Ensure that all housekeeping glitches are followed up and resolved in a timely manner through systems applications


Health, Safety & Compliance

    Ensure all associates follow safety procedures, proper chemical handling, and hygiene practices

    Report all injuries immediately to Security for documentation

    Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements



Qualifications

Experience:

    Minimum 2–4 years of progressive experience in housekeeping operations within a luxury hotel or resort environment. 

    Prior supervisory or management experience overseeing housekeeping associates (Coordinators, Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants) in a luxury resort. 

    Proven experience in maintaining Forbes and LQA service standards. 


Education: 

    High school diploma or equivalent (required), Certificate or diploma in Hospitality       Management, Hotel Operations, or Business Administration (preferred).

    Addditional training in customer service or office administration is a plus


General Skills:

    Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a focus on developing associates

Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera, Opera Cloud) 

    Experience with workforce management systems such as Unifocus 

    Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook 

    Ability to manage reports, productivity tracking, and room status updates 

    Knowledge of inventory control systems and housekeeping operations tools 

    Understanding of health, safety, and chemical handling standards


    Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
