Overview:
The Finance Intern will gain comprehensive exposure to the operations of the hotel’s Finance Department by shadowing key team members and participating in critical financial processes. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and a holistic understanding of financial operations in the hospitality industry.
Full time – 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:
• Shadow the Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, Staff Accountant, and Purchasing Clerk to understand their daily responsibilities and workflows. Help identify and implement process improvements within the Department.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures as outlined in internal audit documentation (OMR).
• Support the Finance team in ongoing projects, including:
o Tax audits
o External audits
o Implementation of an inventory system for the wine cellar
• Participate in and take notes during:
o Weekly labor meetings
o Monthly purchasing meetings
o Monthly credit meetings
o Monthly Profit & Loss Statement reviews with the Leadership Team
• Learn and assist in the forecasting and budgeting process, gaining insight into how each department contributes to the hotel’s financial success.
• Conduct research and analysis to support financial decision-making and reporting.
• Assist with data entry, reconciliations, and reporting tasks as needed.
• Gain exposure to inventory management, cost control, and vendor relations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the financial impact of operational decisions.
• All other duties as required

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an undergraduate course for finance or hospitality
• A basic understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements and accounting principles
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and solve problems is essential
• Familiarity with hospitality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially for financial calculations and data analysis, is highly valued

Hourly Payrate: 17.50 – 20.00
