Impact of this role
The Director of Talent and Culture is responsible for developing and executing strategic human resources initiatives across the Hong Kong Golf and Tennis Academy and Town Club (collectively “The Club”). With a combined workforce of over 200 associates, this role serves as a key business partner to the General Manager and Executive leadership committee, shaping the people strategy, organizational culture, and associate experience in alignment with the vision and values of The Club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a full spectrum of professional human resources services including compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, development & retention, performance management, staff movement and employee relations.
- Support General Manager and Executive Committee on the execution of HR programmes, policies and initiatives across the Club.
- Design and implement an optimal organizational structure, leveraging synergies between HKGTA and Town Club.
- Formulate and execute HR policies in alignment with the corporate governance and departmental KPIs and ensure the policies and practices are strictly in place and delivered.
- Build a robust employer brand and talent pipeline that supports current and future business needs.
- Partners with the line managers to manage the annual budget and headcount management process, co-ordination and reporting.
- Provide coaching to key stakeholders on people related issues, employment-related matters, staff cases & work safety to ensure their understanding of common principles in workforce management and employment related regulatory requirements.
- Actively listen to associate feedback and create strategies to enhance workplace culture, wellbeing, and retention.
- Champion associate recognition, welfare, and benefits programs, staying ahead of evolving associate expectations and market trends.
- Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with Hong Kong Labor Law and related legal matters.
- Review compensation and benefits programs for competitiveness and internal equity, managing annual salary planning and reporting.
- Analyze and address key HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and workforce productivity.
- Establishes and maintains a proactive Talent & Culture function to ensure associate motivation, talent development, compensation & benefits, and compliance with policies and procedures and local labor regulations.
- Drive consistency in associate communication, grievance handling, and policy interpretation.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree holder in Human Resources Management, Hospitality Management or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum 8 years with relevant work experience gain in sizeable company, preferably in hospitality or prestigious clubhouse operations, 5 years experience in managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong labor laws and HR best practices.
- Fluency in English is required; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is required (at least one).
- Service-oriented mindset with results-driven attitude
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Experience in dynamic and diversified working environment is definitely an advantage
- Proven experience advising senior leadership and managing change across diverse teams.
