About the Role
The PR & Communications Manager will be a key support role to the Director of Communications. The position will be responsible for implementing strategy, initiatives, planning, coordination and management of the hotel’s integrated marketing, public relations and communications. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, they will create and communicate the hotel’s messages, oversee and manage all community programming, and ensure overall continuity of hotel brand consistency and image.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for co-creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations programme that will enhance the hotel’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications.
- Responsible for overseeing all hotel marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition etc.
- Ensure articulation of the hotel’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the hotel, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.
- Coordinate media interest in the hotel and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
- Evaluate brand partners for cultural programme. Conceptualise and implement and coordinate calendar of events to ensure hotel remains a cultural epicentre through innovative and creative cultural programming.
- Coordinate the appearance of all hotel print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc. to be “on brand”
- Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations, and the specific business of the hotel and use this information to help the hotel operate with initiative and innovation.
- Ensure an efficient and well organised digital marketing department, ensuring all associates are well trained and highly motivated.
About you
- Preferable exposure and experience of being part of a pre-opening/launch team.
- Possesses Rosewoods core values and truly be able to share and express your passion for your industry.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modelling inclusive behaviours.
- 5-8 years of experience in strategic PR. Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with partners such as press, influencers and agencies.
- Strong existing connections within the press and influencer communities
- Highly social, energetic, and present at industry events. A natural networker who can build relationships quickly and effectively.
- Strong strategic and operational skills. Capable of handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Driven by leading own projects and working towards set goals with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Goal-oriented and proactive, precise and structured.
- A genuine interest in the luxury and hospitality industries. Up to date with the latest trends and developments within the industry and social media.
