OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for providing relaxing and high-quality spa services, as well as leading a team of Spa Treatment Providers through positive influence, development, and mentorship to ensure the highest standards of guest service.
Perform treatments and body therapies to guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
- Provide excellent customer service, massage services, protocols, rituals and body therapies to all Sense Spa guests.
- At all times to be flexible, courteous, resourceful and cheerful. To create an environment that is professional.
- To work in a safe manner and create a safe environment for users of the Spa.
- To know all the safety and fire procedures.
- To report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and nametag.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene as per the spa grooming standards.
- To ensure the Sense Spa is kept to the highest standard of cleanliness and comply with health, hygiene and safety regulations.
- To check and maintain the Spa ambiance set-up at all times in accordance with the minimum standards.
- To greet guests in accordance with the Sense Spa standards
- Providing spa beauty and massage treatments in accordance with Sense Spa standards.
- Maintain heart of housework space in organized, well labeled manner. Do not store unnecessary items or overstock par levels.
- Maintain back bar par levels, Raise purchase order for supplies and equipment within approved budget.
- Follow all spa and fitness policies and procedures related to spa services, record-keeping, clientele, equipment and environment.
- Educate, inform and promote spa services to spa clients and employees.
- Inform Spa management of any guests concerns equipment or supply issues.
- Communicate and develop good working relationship with spa staff, and Hotel employees, members and repeat guests.
- Reports all client complaints to Spa Management
- Ensure that safety procedures are practiced, and any concerns are communicated immediately to the Spa Director.
- Assist with special events and perform other duties as assigned by the Spa management
- Develop new treatments in collaboration with the Spa management.
- To handle all chemicals and cleaning materials in accordance with departmental safety standards and use in accordance with the manufactures instructions.
- Assist all other staff at times of need.
- To attend all departmental and general staff meetings.
- To carry out opening and closing duties as required.
- To adhere to health and safety and emergency procedures in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
- All other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 2-3 years' experience as a therapist, esthetician or salon technician
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified massage therapist, esthetician or salon technician
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
General Skills
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize,
- Organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, while maintaining a sense of balance and calm energy
- Resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; work with minimal supervision
- Understand a guest’s service needs; provide a high level of customer service; follow and create consistent Sense Spa ‘flow’; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
Technical Skills
- Trained and practice Swedish, sports, deep, hot stone, reflexology and aromatherapy massage
- Trained in various body therapies and rituals including; vichy, scrubs, and wraps.
- Trained as an esthetician
Language
- Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting up to 50 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
Licenses & Certifications
- Certified Massage Therapist or
- Licensed Esthetician
Pay
The pay scale for this position is between $16.20 and $18.24/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
Decisions regarding individual rates will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience and/or Fine Dining Restaurant Experience.
