Job Description

OVERVIEW

At Rosewood Red Sea an ultra-luxury resort environment where comfort is paramount, the AC Technician ensures optimal climate control across guest rooms, villas, and public areas. This role combines technical precision with responsiveness, maintaining HVAC systems that deliver consistent comfort aligned with luxury hospitality standards and upholding Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy.

The position requires adaptability, collaborative engagement, and a proactive mindset to sustain uninterrupted operations while supporting broader engineering needs when required.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. HVAC System Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate and maintain: 
    • FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, split units, and ventilation systems 
  • Ensure consistent temperature and humidity control across all areas 
  • Monitor system performance and adjust settings as required 

2. District Cooling Interface Equipment’s & Operations

  • Support operation of systems connected to district cooling supply, including: 
    • Heat exchangers 
    • Chilled water piping and control valves 
  • Ensure efficient heat transfer and system balance 

3. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment 
  • Diagnose and repair faults in: 
    • Cooling systems 
    • Air distribution systems 
  • Replace filters, belts, and worn components as needed 

4. Indoor Air Quality & Hygiene

  • Maintain clean and efficient air systems, including: 
    • Filter cleaning/replacement 
    • Duct inspection (as applicable) 
  • Ensure ventilation systems meet health and hygiene standards, especially in guest and F&B areas 
  • RSG will conduct a third party Indoor air Quality checks to uphold regenerative Tourism and our participation is paramount to keep all the equipment’s & filters in dust free environment.

5. Guest Support & Service Response

  • Respond promptly to HVAC-related guest complaints 
  • Ensure minimal disruption while resolving issues 
  • Maintain comfort levels aligned with resort standards 

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Record maintenance activities, system readings, and repairs 
  • Report major faults, recurring issues, or inefficiencies 
  • Maintain clear shift handover notes 
  • Ensure PPMs are conducted in free and fair maintenance in a CMMS integrated platform

7. Cross-Functional Support & Coverage

  • Support other engineering trades when required 
  • Undertake temporary responsibilities during: 
    • Staff absence 
    • Vacation coverage 
  • Ensure continuity of operations across engineering functions

9. Annual Performance & Development

  • Participate in annual performance evaluations with the supervisor 
  • Continuously enhance technical competency and system knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or certification in HVAC / Mechanical Engineering/Refrigeration  or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in resorts or hotels 
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • Air conditioning systems (FCU, AHU, split units) 
    • Refrigeration basics and hand on controls 
  • Familiarity with chilled water systems and district cooling interface preferred 
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings and manuals 
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices 
  • Good communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage 
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays 
  • Physically capable of handling HVAC maintenance tasks Bottom of Form
