OVERVIEW
The Plumber at Rosewood Red Sea plays a vital role in maintaining the seamless operation, hygiene, and integrity of all water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems across the ultra-luxury resort. This role ensures an exceptional guest and associate experience by upholding the highest standards of functionality, safety, sustainability, and preventive maintenance, while supporting uninterrupted resort operations in line with Rosewood’s commitment to Relationship Hospitality and luxury service excellence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plumbing Systems Maintenance
- Maintain water supply, drainage, and fixtures
2. HACCP & Hygiene Compliance
- Ensure safe water systems in kitchens and food areas
3. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Identify and repair leaks, blockages, and faults
4. Safety & Emergency
- Respond to flooding and urgent issues
5. Shift Operations
- Work across shifts as required
- Work flexible shifts including afternoon and night operations
6. Cross-Functional Support
- Provide cross-coverage during absence or vacation to maintain operational continuity
7. Annual Performance
- Evaluated on reliability and response
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade certification in plumbing
- 3–5 years experience
- Knowledge of water & Sewerage systems and sanitation in a typical resort hotel or Hotels in nature
- Hands-on welding of Copper piping
- Hands-on Welding of PPR piping
- Hands-on welding of HDPE Piping
- Hands-on Welding of MS materials / Piping
Installation & Maintenance
- Install, assemble, and maintain pipes, fittings, valves, drainage systems, and fixtures (sinks, toilets, water heaters, etc.).
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plumbing specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Repair leaks, blockages, and damaged components promptly.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose plumbing issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Replace defective components such as washers, gaskets, and seals.
- Conduct pressure tests to identify leaks and ensure system integrity.
- Respond to emergency plumbing situations (pipe bursts, flooding, drainage failures).
System Efficiency & Upkeep
- Ensure optimal functioning of water supply and wastewater systems.
- Monitor and maintain pumps, water tanks, and related equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and plumbing shafts.
- Support water conservation initiatives and efficient usage practices.
Tools & Equipment Handling
- Use and maintain plumbing tools (pipe cutters, wrenches, threading machines, drain cleaning equipment).
- Ensure proper storage and upkeep of tools and materials.
- Report faulty tools or equipment for maintenance or replacement.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
Occupational Health
- Handle exposure to wastewater, sewage, and potentially harmful bacteria using proper hygiene practices.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves, masks, safety goggles, and protective clothing.
- Follow sanitation and disinfection procedures after handling contaminated materials.
- Be aware of risks from confined spaces and ensure proper ventilation.
Safety Compliance
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety policies and plumbing codes.
- Ensure safe handling of pressurized systems and hot water lines.
- Prevent slips, trips, and falls by maintaining safe work conditions.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on plumbing systems connected to machinery.
Environmental Practices
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and wastewater.
- Prevent water leakage and wastage.
- Support sustainable water management practices.
- Avoid contamination of clean water systems.
Appraisal & Performance Evaluation Norms
Performance will be assessed based on:
- Quality of Work: Accuracy and durability of installations and repairs.
- Response Time: Efficiency in addressing routine and emergency issues.
- Preventive Maintenance: Effectiveness in reducing breakdowns.
