Impact of this role
The Director, Global Sales is responsible for generating incremental sales primarily through new client acquisition from the LATAM source markets by growing relationships with luxury travel agencies and advisors, tour & wholesale partners, TMC and corporate clients, and niche clientele such as concierge & lifestyle companies – for transient and M&E business. This individual will focus on the overall management, productivity, and achievement of sales goals. This role will work closely with the Senior Director, Global Sales, AMER to ensure that their strategic sales priorities and booking strategy is in line with properties’ business needs, with a particular focus on domestic hotel growth, with soon to be 5 hotels in Mexico, and outbound hotel growth into top European markets/Rosewood hotels (to include but not limited to Madrid, Paris, London, etc.) while representing the full collection for sales and activation opportunities.
This role requires strong business development, account management, and hospitality sales skills, with the ability to position global hotels to diverse market segment across key LATAM gateway cities such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Lima, and Santiago.
Key Responsibilities:
- (55%) Achieve annual and quarterly sales targets for strategic global accounts via client engagements, both in person and digitally. Monitor, evaluate and own book of business to uncover incremental group revenue for brand’s global portfolio of hotels that optimize profitability during non-peak and peak periods.
- (10%) Develop annual SMART strategic account plans for Global Accounts and LATAM segment strategy - detailing objectives, timelines, and sales methods – and conduct bi-annual review meetings to identify opportunities and solicit for new business to optimize performance.
- (10%) Generate new business for all hotels within the brand through prospecting, participation in regional events and shows, utilizing LinkedIn sales navigator, and working closely with hotels to identify and develop potential new opportunities within the specified region.
- (10%) Collaborate with team members within GSO to support global relationships and assist in conversion.
- (10%) Organize, schedule and lead client engagements with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts including sales calls, tradeshows, discoveries (FAMs) and events to build top of mind brand awareness, uncovering new business for existing and new hotels.
- (5%) Actively participates in industry organization(s) to enhance Rosewoods positioning and reputation that aligns with assigned accounts and territory.
Critical Skills & Qualifications:
- Fluent in written and spoken English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Minimum 5+ years Global Sales and/or luxury hotel experience selling multiple properties/brands with established relationships in LATAM.
- Knowledge of key influencers& bookers and history of demonstrating quick wins, to gain incremental business to the brand within the first 90 days.
- Strategic thinker with high EQ / emotional intelligence
- Self-motivated, organized, to achieve goals with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong business acumen. Ability to analyze, interpret and understand financial data as it relates to sales performance. Owns book of business.
Other Requirements:
Minimum 40% travel expected.
