ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT / TEAM

Sense, A Rosewood Spa is located on the level 33 of Rosewood Phnom Penh Hotel. Occupying the whole floor with wellness activities and facilities including seven Spa Treatment rooms; Pedi:Mani:Cure studio by Bastien Gonzalez, Fitness Centre, indoor swimming pool and male and female changing room and wet facilities.

The Spa team consist of Spa Concierge, Spa Therapists, Fitness instructor, Spa and Fitness Attendants, Supervisor and Management team.


THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE

As a spa manager is to plan, manage, and oversee all spa operations. It is the responsibility to ensure the achievement of sales goals, business objectives, and profitability. The spa director will monitor payroll and expenditures to successfully achieve aggressive spa profit plan. He/she will review financial data, prepare management reports, and perform administrative functions accurately and timely.

In addition to the above, the spa manager will plan and coordinate spa promotions, events, and effective client loyalty programs to maximize market place positioning. He/she will oversee group bookings and interface with hotel partnerships. He/she will also be responsible for overseeing and directing the product retailing operations at the spa.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain the standards of RWPPN and service in all interactions with members, guests and staff. Oversee all spa and fitness operations to ensure the delivery of professional, high quality, safe and innovative spa and fitness programs.
  • Responsible for the supervision and management of Spa and Fitness Center and day to day operation
  • Develop and monitor the critical path document including timelines up to and through opening; With Leadership team, establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and manuals for Spa, Retail, Fitness, Wellness and Guest Services ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Work with department heads to specify spa, wellness, and fitness-related operating supplies and equipment (OS&E) within budget
  • Finalize equipment lists and maintenance schedules for all programs and services, and to establish a system to maintain and track equipment inventory.
  • Develop and establishing inventory control procedures
  • Assist in configuration of operating software systems
  • Integrate Castle Pines brand standards as a basis for a system of operational and human resource policies
  • Develop and maintain SOP manual and ensure compliance
  • Develop menu of spa and fitness services and programs
  • Develop and manage high quality exercise programming, testing and personal training as well as create and oversee all group exercise, events, workshops
  • Source and develop retail offerings with the club Buyer and Merchandiser
  • Administer staff and client scheduling for maximum revenue generation and profitability
  • Oversee Spa POS system and Spa reservation system
  • Conduct regular department meetings for purposes of informing, training and inspiring staff
  • Proactively schedule, supervise and conduct employee and independent contractor new-hire and on-going training programs
  • Attend all department head, staff and safety meetings.


CRITICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferable or industry training equivalent
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in health club or Spa management, with 1 year in top management in high quality, luxury-oriented club spa, resort spa or destination spa facility.
  • 2+ years of successful management experience in Spa/ Wellness or Hospitality industry
  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
  • Outstanding member service skills
  • Strong leadership & staff development abilities
  • Ability to develop & manage to budget
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and growth is expected
  • Ability to effectively delegate
  • Strong team building skills including ability to lead, train, collaborate and contribute as part of a team
  • Committed to learning, personal growth, and continual process improvement
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be change adaptive, flexible, and empathetic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • CPR certification is preferable.
