Rosewood Blue Palace will open in Crete, Greece in April 2027 and we are now seeking talented individuals to help bring the re-imagining of this stunning property to life. 

The Payroll Master will be based on-site at the hotel in Elounda, Crete, starting as soon as possible. 

THE ROLE

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and legally compliant processing of employee payroll in accordance with Greek labor, tax, and social security legislation.

The role ensures full compliance with obligations toward Greek authorities (EFKA, AADE, ERGANI II) and guarantees the correctness of all payroll calculations, filings, and reporting.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE THE PLACE

Aligned with Greek Law 

 

Payroll Processing & Calculations:

           Process monthly payroll (salaries, daily wages, overtime, night shifts, Sundays/public holidays) 

           Calculate statutory payments: 

o          Christmas Bonus 

o          Easter Bonus 

o          Annual Leave Allowance 

           Manage employee leave, sick leave, and absences 

           Calculate termination indemnities (dismissals/resignations) 

 

Social Security & Tax Compliance:

           Prepare and submit APD (Analytical Periodic Declaration) to EFKA 

           Calculate and remit: 

o          Employer & employee social security contributions 

o          Payroll tax (withholding tax – FMY) to AADE 

           Handle additional statutory deductions where applicable 

 

Labor System (ERGANI II) & Compliance:

           Submit employment-related declarations via ERGANI II: 

o          Hiring (E3 forms) 

o          Terminations/resignations (E5, E6) 

o          Salary or schedule changes 

o          Overtime and working time declarations 

           Monitor employment contracts and collective labor agreements (CBAs) 

           Ensure compliance with: 

o          Greek labor law 

o          Working time regulations 

o          Minimum wage requirements 

 

Accounting & Reporting:

           Reconcile payroll with accounting records 

           Post payroll journal entries 

           Prepare management reports (labor cost analysis, KPIs, etc.) 

 

Audits & Compliance:

           Support audits and inspections from: 

o          SEPE 

o          EFKA 

o          AADE 

           Maintain payroll records in compliance with GDPR and Greek regulations 

           Ensure strict confidentiality of employee data 

 

 

Operational Excellence

Liaise with: 

·       HR department 

·       Finance/Accounting 

·       External partners (accountants, labor law consultants) 

·       Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries 

·       Model the company culture, vision, mission and core values at all times, actively driving the vision and values across the hotel.

 

COULD THIS BE YOU?

·       Well-developed leadership competencies:

o   2–4 years of payroll experience in Greece 

o   Strong knowledge of: Greek labor law, Social security system (EFKA),Payroll taxation 

o   Hands-on experience with: ERGANI II platform, Payroll systems (e.g., Epsilon Net, SoftOne, SAP HR) 

o   Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Strong analytical and numerical ability, High attention to detail 

·       Strong centricity skills. 

·       Strategic thinking- ability to formulate strategies and methodically solve problems. 

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·       Knowledge of hotel accounting and other systems (i.e. Opera, Micros, Hyperion, ADP, Infor Sun Systems) and general business systems (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

·       Thorough understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.
