Job Summary-

Main purpose is to serve beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) to guests and servers in keeping with hotel standards. Collection of payment for beverages. Ensure consistent product and service. Observe all legal guidelines and procedures of the TABC.
To support the pool team to set up and serve food and beverage orders according to set standards and procedures as well as performing necessary side work for the pool and pool bar. To deliver food and beverage service to the pool area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- (Key Activities)

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

• Thorough knowledge of product recipes and proper service procedures. Responsible for all products stocked and requisitioned to the bar.
• Collection of money generated as revenue and the proper deposit made at the end of each shift. Proper recordkeeping on guest checks at the point of sale. Thorough knowledge of POS system - InfoGenesis.
• Responsible for bar set-up at the beginning of each shift. Responsible for closing the bar and restocking used items. Responsible for cleanliness of the bar and reporting all maintenance needs to the manager.
• Monitor and adhere to the rules and regulations established by the TABC; includes monitoring of guest consumption and knowledge of procedures for handling intoxicated guests.
• Thorough knowledge of and correct application of all hotel policies, procedures, and practices.
• Responsible for maintaining hotel standards of excellence relating to attitude, customer service, employee relations, and job performance.
• Responsible for guest relations including guest's name and product preferences.
• Set up orders (tables or trays) according to standards. Deliver them to guest on time.
• Keep the pool surrounds and pool bar clean and tidy.
• Able to confidently recount and share with guests the daily menu specials, as well as the menus as a whole. Able to suggest to guest menu items.
• Be very helpful towards guests, making sure all their needs and wants are met.
• Keep a tidy appearance.
• Follow directions and carry delegated duties.

Other Standard Responsibilities-

Experience-
• Previous bartending experience in medium to high volume operation is an advantage
• Previous service bar or service experience in a bar environment is an advantage

General Skills -
• Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Technical Skills -
• Must have alcohol server's certification or become certified as required by company policy.
• Cash handling experience with ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers.
• Ability to clearly communicate information to customers, managers, fellow employees.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs 5 times a day.
• Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc

Education or Certification
Must be TABC certified.
Food Safety Certificates

Language -
• Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.

Physical Requirements -
• Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
