Description of Responsibilities

Rosewood Baha Mar’s Director of Catering & Events will work together with the Director of Sales & Marketing and is responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of the department’s operations including revenues, food costs, budgets, inventories, sanitation, selling and servicing activities. This individual will work closely with the Sales, Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary and other departments to maximize events sales. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

·         Ensure optimum delivery of catering processes and services, balancing a pragmatic approach with the need to consistently deliver services to a standard of excellence

·         Execute short and long term planning of the catering strategy to achieve and exceed forecasted revenues in Events, F&B and all revenue generating departments

·         Ensure catering activities are aligned with company strategy, values and standards

·         Coordinate the selection, purchasing, storage, inventory, maintenance and usage of all related catering supplies and equipment

·         Develop new techniques of service for maximum guest satisfaction at minimum operating costs

·         Ensure that all catering proposals, collateral, digital tools and other communications are in line with the hotel’s brand standards and are up to date in terms of information

·         Review and analyze all contracts signed by or on behalf of the Catering Department to ensure they follow all policies and procedures

·         Review and analyze all sales files and systems to ensure correct booking procedures, including contractual agreements, room blocks, credit and payment documents etc.

·         Lead and actively participate in strategic meetings; developing and adjusting sales and pricing strategy

·         Recruit, train and discipline catering team in coordination with Human Resources

·         Uphold company’s key values and brand standards to encourage team to maintain culture of excellence and achieve top results

·         Ensure seamless flow of information between catering and all departments

·         Stay current on catering industry trends and the competitor hotels’ catering initiatives

·         Perform other duties as assigned
