Fluency in Japanese is a requirement for this role.

OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

Maintain occupancy and average rate through control of room inventory.  Act as departmental liaison for sales and front office.  Run forecasting report on a daily and weekly basis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·        Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.

 

·        Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.

 

·        Forecast room occupancy on a daily and weekly basis.

 

·        Coordinate and track all advance deposits accurately.

 

·        Coordinate all group sales by tracking inventories and billing instructions.

 

·        Month-end reports tracking.

 

·        Ensure proper training of all associates in the Reservations department.

 

·        Attend all Sales & Marketing and Reservations meetings and communicate pertinent information to associates in department.

 

·        Maintain the annual calendar of sold-out dates and special events.

 

·        Supervise all reservations employees.

 

·        All other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·        Experience: Minimum two years’ experience as a Reservations Assistant Manager or Supervisor for a luxury or ultra-luxury property.

 

·        Education:   College education preferred but not mandatory.

 

·        General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

 

·        Technical Skills:         Advanced math skills; ability to produce complex reports using room data.

 

·        Language:    Required to speak, read and write Japanese as well as English, with fluency in other languages preferred.

 

·        Physical Requirements:    Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting _____ pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
