IMPACT OF THIS ROLE

The DOSM works closely with the MD to direct the overall Sales and Marketing operations of the property towards the maximising of revenues, through sales, distribution, and communication strategies, and through the consistent positioning of the property within the guidelines established for the brand, ensuring brand clarity and integrity is maintained at all times. Is a bastion of the brand ensuring the Hotel is positioned and marketed as an ultra-luxury brand.

The role requires an innovative forward-thinker, savvy in digital channels who has managed multiple departments and revenue streams. An in-depth knowledge of the market, both locally and internationally, and an ability to identify and monitor trends in the market are a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

  • Leads and manages the Sales, Marketing, Communications and Events teams.
  • Partners with Revenue Management.
  • Actively participates in the Business Plan preparation with emphasis on driving the revenue objectives for the Hotel.
  • Develops an effective launch plan, with clear objectives and sales goals, per each business segment, towards achievement of budget revenue targets.
  • Develops and oversees an innovative communications plan for the Hotel, working with the team to update and drive relevant programming throughout the year.
  • Ability to lead and develop a sales team to deliver the Hotel’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators – e.g. GOP, Total Revenue, ARR, Occ etc.).
  • Takes a lead position in the Hotel’s weekly / monthly forecasting meetings, working closely with the revenue management team and devices strategies to achieve goals/targets.
  • Conversant with revenue management and channel / distribution management, using these tools to effectively support decision making.
  • Establishes and reviews marketing and sales budgets and allocated expenditure to ensure most effective use of funds available to support business objectives.
  • Regularly conducts and reviews the business performance and productivity with the team.
  • Optimises the opportunities in driving business via all available channels / distribution avenues.
  • Maximises and leverages the support from Corporate Sales and Marketing team in pursuing business from key segments and managed accounts including corporate RFPs and prospects for new business.
  • Drives sales and marketing initiatives and activities to optimise synergy amongst sister hotels on cross-selling. Such activities include joint sales calls, co-partnership, trade shows, exhibitions, client events, cluster or group-wide promotions etc.
  • Provides feedback through marketing intelligence, to better guide business decisions, both long and short terms.
  • Works closely with local community and CVB to ensure hotel is integrated as strong local business partner.
  • Works closely with Director of Food and Beverage to ensure marketing support to Food and Beverage promotional events and for the co-ordination of advertising needs.
  • Works closely with the Spa Director to coordinate marketing, advertising and promotional programmes for “Asaya Wellness”.
  • Ensures all brand standards and values are maintained at all times within the Hotel and that deviations (if any) from the Visual Identity Manual are recorded and agreed by Corporate Office and Ownership.
  • Ensures property differentiators such as Explorers, Sense of Taste activations and other operational programs are supported by Sales and Marketing.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with all Division Heads and is an active part of the senior management team.
  • Develops and updates policies and manuals, as related to the Division / Department, for implementation in the field, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group.
  • Actively participates in and leads recruitment and talent development for the Division /Department, to meet both current and future needs.
  • Is a “Brand Ambassador” at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity is always maintained.
  • Models the Corporate culture, vision, mission and core values at all times

  • Work closely with the Director of Events in preparing monthly forecasts, departmental budget, effective cost controls and function space yield maximisation..
  • To develop and supervise the sales team; recognizing training opportunities, organizing day to day operation of the office and maintaining successful communications within the team.
  • Sustain relationships with key clients by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Comply and adhere to the Rosewood company policies.
  • Take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework.
  • Be a “brand ambassador” at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
  • Model the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ Luxury hotel experience developing and implementing strategic sales strategies. Minimum of five years of experience leading and advising sales teams.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Greek preferred.
